Ancelotti Sacked!!! Official...................

He hasn't achieved what was required of him this season but it really isn't his fault.

He wasn't given the money to spend on who he wanted either in the summer or january, he had several senior players sold and was forced to use youth players who are clearly not good enough, had his assistant sacked and replaced by a "yes" man to the owner, an owner who continually interferes in on the field matters and is the most kneejerk and ridiculously impatient chairman in the division.

I'm glad Ancelotti gets to leave so he can go somewhere where a manager of his stature will be treated fairly.

Abramovich has made his bed, he's running out of options so who's he going to appoint now, with Chelsea's squad needing a very heavy makeover and a lot of fresh, young blood injected into it?

Just to bring you up to speed on why this happened.

1. Ray Wilkins wanted more than the board thought he deserved from his contract. In short he got greedy and left.

2. Ancelotti's father died in Italy this year which no doubt upset him. That happened around the time Chelsea's form started to decline. I suspect he felt guilty that he was in England when this happened.

3. This was Chelsea's least successful season since Abramovich's take over.

4. The same out of form players were selected over better performing youth and bench warmers.

5. He never stuck with a playing style or formation which lead to very erratic performances.

I really like Ancelotti. You'll never meet a nicer man and he's a decent manager to boot. But at the height of professional football you can't have a season that bad and keep your job. Its just a fact of the business (unless you're Ferguson or Wenger).

There's so many wrongs in this post i don't know where to start?

1, Wilkins departure was nothing to do with his contract

2, Chelsea's decline coincided with Wilkins departure, that's as clear as day

3, Abramovich's fault for sacking Wilkins and buying an out of form striker in Jan whilst insisting he plays against Ancelotti wishes.

4, As Above

5, If you stuck with Drogba and Anelka up front for the remainder season you would of done better.

Abramovich should of waited until the summer, farmed Drogba out and then got Torres, instead he panic buyed and it back fired.

Your loss is someone elses gain because Ancelotti is a good manager and has been working with his hands tied.

* I still think you'll be the biggest spenders in the summer

1. Yes, it was - among other things.
2. Wilkins departure, Ancelotti's father dying, Lampard, Essien, Drogba and Terry out also contributes.
3. I've already said, Torres was Ancelotti's main target since his first season here.
4 + 5. Its the managers job to select his squad, and he picked players out of form. He should have stuck with Drogba I agree, but Roman has nothing to do with team selection. How you can say otherwise is astonishing to me because he has never given an interview in his life and no previous coaches have claimed that he interfered with on pitch matters at all.

Again, I'm not defending the decision. I think it was wrong to let him go because so many factors were beyond his control this season. I was just pointing out why he was let go.

We'll have to agree to disagree on them points then.

There's going to be a big shake up at your place this summer and big money is going to be spent.
