If it is a Milner + cash / Barkley deal I will be delighted, however I cant help but be amazed at Milners lack of ambition. If he had no game time at City it would be understandable, he isnt a automatic starter but he does get a significant amount of game time in a title winning side, playing Champions League football.......he scored the winner in the Allianz Arena against the then current European Champions. I cant believe he is willing to swap this to be a regular starter in a team with little or no chance of winning anything and no Champions League football. I dont mean this as any form of disrespect to Everton, I am just saying it as it is. He left a similar scenario at Villa to come to us.

I reckon it's highly unlikely that Everton would accept players in return for Barkley. Or to put it another way, if they did we'd still need to be bringing close to 40 million pounds hard cash to the table. For example, 40 million plus Rodwell OR Milner could get a deal done. But then I suspect if you offered Everton 40 million hard cash without a player involved you'd probably be in with a shot of getting him.

I think I am correct in saying that TH stated a few days ago, that Everton would only entertain the idea of selling Barkley if we were willing to throw the likes of Milner into the mix. I can understand why both clubs would do it, I dont understand why Milner would.

A guarantee that he would start most games and play in his favourite position. He's won two Prem titles, an FA cup,league cup and a charity shield whilst at City.
Perhaps enjoying the rest of his career in his best position is more important to him. It's just unfortunate that he'll never get the chance to play that role at City.
I don't blame him for wanting a move, and will wish him well if he goes.

Id say mix probably suggests some sort of player exchange between us and Everton, though swap deals seem to be quite difficult to pull off.

Id guess Micha and Rodwell for Barkley. If there is is cash involved I think we have about £5 mill left before any sales so it could be done.

Not sure how far the respect towards Jimmy extends to letting him run down his final year and wiping our eye on a £10m transfer fee.

The respect is there for City offering a new deal and asking Jimmy to think about it while he is away.
