And so it begins...

Serious question, who's place would he take in the starting 11?

We'd have to sell to buy. If we sell Yaya then we could have Barkley with Silva and Nasri ahead of Fernandinho and Fernando.

So that won't be happening for at least a year then.

Depends. I understand that Tolmie is supposed to be quite reliable, but if you don't take what he's said as rote then Yaya's clearly been making the signs of someone intent on leaving.

Maybe mate, but Ross Barkley isn't able to fill his shoes. Maybe in a year from now he might be.

And if that's the case he'd cost twice as much and he'd have European suitors as well.

It also remains to be seen whether next season's Yaya will be as good as this season's. He's not getting any younger, will have the ACoN and his heart might not be in it any more. He doesn't seem the type to get his head down to get the job done.

If we were to sell Yaya and did buy Barkley, I wouldn't be disappointed. You have to take a gamble once in a while.

"If" we went for Barkley then it'd be a pre contract agreement, he'd sign for us but stay at Everton to develop. Or as a first refusal with us giving up our right to the £2.5m we're owed off Everton for the Barry deal. Third option is Rodwell & Milner to Everton (they said any deal would need to involve players to tempt them to sell Barkley) plus cash. IMO of course.

Even though we've all seen him play last season, this video shows his class and quality. City need to get him. Take the risk!

Get it done, would be awesome signing

The "English" premium is just not worth the risk right now for me and whilst he may be a very good player and potentially right up there with the best, as we've seen with Rodwell, nothing in football is guaranteed and for me, we could spend the sort of money it would take to land the lad far more wisely right now.

We are not exactly short in the midfield area.

You could probably say he is the closest player to gazza that has ermerged for years big things can happen foŕ this lad if he gets it right . Its a big yes from me would be a great investment for the city .

I think in order to stay in every competition for as long as possible, i think Manuel/Txiki will want a squad which we can rotate heavily until around March/Easter time, and then only for the run-in do we want/need to have a set starting 11. 2 players for every position, and rotate/rest players as much as possible.

Say if we play Juventus in a midweek champs league match we could go with
----------------------------Hart------------------------
Zab----------Komps-----------Quim---------Kol
------------------------Fernando----------------------
--------Fernandinho----------Yaya----------------
Jovetic------------------------------------------Silva
------------------------Beast/Aguero--------------

And the following sunday we play say Hull, we could go with
----------------------------Hart------------------------
Zab/Sagna-----Komps-------Quim-------Clichy/Kol
---------------Fernando----Fernandinho-----
--------------------------Barkley-------------------
Navas-------------------------------------------Nasri
--------------------------Dzeko-------------------------

If Yaya stays, it would be such a luxury to be able to rest him, and if we need him in a game where he's on the bench, we bring him on and he may just be the best impact sub in the game with his pace and power running at tired legs.

Just my thoughts, but rotation is vital in such a long, competitive season.
