And so it begins...

Chelsea, United will be on him when his possible transfer becomes reality. Dont think he moves this summer and in his place I wouldnt. One more year at Everton under not so much pressure but slowly becoming the most important piece of their midfield while getting some EL experience and lot of PL games to be played there under a manager who is really good and really rates him.

Everton should ask at least 40m for him. Players in return I dont know would Everton pay Milner similar wage like us? Or even Rodwell?

They certainly need a striker and some pacy winger instead of Deulofeu and Lukaku. That should be their priority well we can only offer Sinclair but Everton wont need him.

As reports said too it might an idea for City but not much chance its happening. All based on Yaya leaves or not which ic still very much up in the air.

He could stay at Everton, improve with less pressure and get more game time. Or his career could stall and no one would be interested next summer. Or he could have a career ending injury.

Alternatively, he could move, play CL football, play with better players (Silva/Nasri; Oscar/Hazard etc) earn a huge fee as his percentage of the transfer and a massive wage each week.

As his agent what would you suggest? I ask, as I'm not sure if I was interested in my player and not just the 5%. If it was your son, rather than client what would you say? Do you grab the opportunity or say it's too soon. I honestly don't know what I'd do, but eventually the pound signs would probably convince me.

I reckon it's highly unlikely that Everton would accept players in return for Barkley. Or to put it another way, if they did we'd still need to be bringing close to 40 million pounds hard cash to the table. For example, 40 million plus Rodwell OR Milner could get a deal done. But then I suspect if you offered Everton 40 million hard cash without a player involved you'd probably be in with a shot of getting him.

I think I am correct in saying that TH stated a few days ago, that Everton would only entertain the idea of selling Barkley if we were willing to throw the likes of Milner into the mix. I can understand why both clubs would do it, I dont understand why Milner would.

Cash speaks louder than words.

Forget Milner, he will decide his own fate. I suspect he might even stay if others are moved on?

Any concrete news on Barkley tolm? Are we in for him, or is it just paper hearsay?

Tolmie's already said Yaya's going nowhere (and I'd believe him over any twitter feed). If Barkley is happening it's got to be player swaps (Milner & Rodwell) and maybe selling someone like Negredo (who by all accounts wants to leave anyway) for the balance. Easily affordable with that lot.

In cash terms Ross Barkley is way beyond what City are allowed to spend this window ( I wont say can afford).

The only possible way that he moves to us this window is players to the value of about £35m plus a few million in cash, perhaps.

Guidetti wont be staying and fits the profile of an Everton buy perfectly.

So they can have him and £5m, deal done. ;-)

Barkley could be the signing to take us to the next level players swap or player sales we need to push hard to get him now.

Guidetti isn't good enough for Everton,he fits the profile of a promoted team at best.

Question:
Could we but, for example Barkley for let's say £40mil, but pay only ten (or anything we could "afford" this window) now, and the rest next year? Would that be in line with the FFP rules?

Even though we've all seen him play last season, this video shows his class and quality. City need to get him. Take the risk!

I'm pretty sure it would still go down as a 40mil deal on this transfer window...doesn't matter how the money is spread out...as far as FFP would look at it, we'd have spent another 40mil in the 2014 window....
