And so it begins...

Question:
Could we but, for example Barkley for let's say £40mil, but pay only ten (or anything we could "afford" this window) now, and the rest next year? Would that be in line with the FFP rules?

I'm pretty sure it would still go down as a 40mil deal on this transfer window...doesn't matter who the money is spread out...as far as FFP would look at it, we'd have spent another 40mil in the 2014 window....

Ok I see. Thanks

I'd love for us to go for him this window already, taking a chance, playing him regularly. Potentially selling Yaya, Jimmy, Rodders should bring in a decdent amount of money.

In cash terms Ross Barkley is way beyond what City are allowed to spend this window ( I wont say can afford).

The only possible way that he moves to us this window is players to the value of about £35m plus a few million in cash, perhaps.

Guidetti wont be staying and fits the profile of an Everton buy perfectly.

So they can have him and £5m, deal done. ;-)

Barkley could be the signing to take us to the next level players swap or player sales we need to push hard to get him now.

He isn't better than any of our first team. He wouldn't take us anywhere. Not for a few seasons at least.

No, don't think we can do that. Mangala's transfer fee will probably be paid in instalments (most transfers are)... but it's still taking up £32m of our budget.

What about PSG and £50 mill splashed out for David fucking Luis.

IMO and after a dominoes win and a few sherberts of Guinness,I cannot see him coming to City this season.EFC do NOT have to sell and the old adage of BOGOF,is a non starter.
Why sell one of your better youngsters and get two average players,to compensate ?
I would be more than happy to see him at City, but lets be honest,Everton by keeping him, could cause more of a problem to the top teams.
IMOFWIW.It will NOT happen this season.

Serious question, who's place would he take in the starting 11?

We'd have to sell to buy. If we sell Yaya then we could have Barkley with Silva and Nasri ahead of Fernandinho and Fernando.

I agree mate.....looking at our starting 11....even if we did sign him...not sure he'd get to start in our midfield...who would we leave out? I really cant see it happening this year....Yaya going no where....
