I suppose we could loan him, with a fixed price deal for next summer, and maybe include in that some deals to Everton this summer with offloading players.

Could we but, for example Barkley for let's say £40mil, but pay only ten (or anything we could "afford" this window) now, and the rest next year? Would that be in line with the FFP rules?
I'm pretty sure it would still go down as a 40mil deal on this transfer window...doesn't matter who the money is spread out...as far as FFP would look at it, we'd have spent another 40mil in the 2014 window....

The only possible way that he moves to us this window is players to the value of about £35m plus a few million in cash, perhaps.
Guidetti wont be staying and fits the profile of an Everton buy perfectly.
So they can have him and £5m, deal done. ;-)
Barkley could be the signing to take us to the next level players swap or player sales we need to push hard to get him now.
No, don't think we can do that. Mangala's transfer fee will probably be paid in instalments (most transfers are)... but it's still taking up £32m of our budget.Matt the Giant said:Question:

Why sell one of your better youngsters and get two average players,to compensate ?
I would be more than happy to see him at City, but lets be honest,Everton by keeping him, could cause more of a problem to the top teams.
IMOFWIW.It will NOT happen this season.
