Andres Iniesta

Never in a million years will this transfer happen. I just pray we are not going to spend the whole Summer chasing this transfer and then end up rushing around for someone else at the last minute. For me we should be leaving this well alone and going for Modric.

I don't think we would do much "dealing" at all in this case. If Barcelona would even consider selling us Iniesta, than I suspect it will be a real gentlemanly deal kind of thing where we would pay what they wanted and when they wanted. You don' try to haggle over the price in this kind of situation.

Maybe we could lease him for two years? :)

Oh, and Modric would be an awesome alternative.

Barca will get a lot of money for iniesta now and over the next few years his price is only going to drop with age. This could be a reason in business sense why they might want to sell him??? But maybe I am just about to snap out of my dream!

by all accounts from what tolm said mate its a world record bid on the table!!!

He did say the bid was made last summer and is still on the table! Can't remember him saying it was a world record bid! That would mean 81m no way we would pay that for a 27 year old! I'd rather try get Pedro of em!
whats up with a 27year old bud??? hes just come into his peak barring injuries!!! hes a world superstar and it would be money well spent in my eyes.

Don't get me wrong I'd love him! The way he plays he probably has a good 3 years in him! Put an argument to me why Barcelona would sell and why he wold want to come to us ?!!

the only one i would have would be the money for barca to buy cesc and have some left over and the challenge for iniesta?? still clutching at straws though!!! lol

I think inesta is the gretest player in the world, I know most people (if not all) think it is messi but iniesta can destroy a team while stood still with what always looks like a simple 10 yard pass. He is a genius who can see things on a football pitch that no one else seems able to!

Imagine being this good and then watching your club searching for 3 years for your replacement! When fabregas goes to barca a player MUST make way! Ths player looks to be Iniesta. He has chance for a new start with more money in his pocket and to save face.

Although I'm arguing the case for him having a reason to leave Barca, I still can't imagine having the best player in the world playing for my beloved city. If it happens it's proof that dreams can come true and im going to continue to stalk sofia vergara

he is the best player in the world for me, and the chances of it happening are unlikely. but barca have in the past sold players while they're at their peak to accomodate other player. ronaldinho, eto'o. his value is only going to drop going forward

A new audit into Barcelona's finances have revealed the club's debt is 442m euros (£369.5m) after a loss of more than 77m euros (£64.36m) last season.
Barca also had to recently take out a loan of around £125m after falling behind with the payment of player wages at the end of June, while central defender Dymtro Chygrynskiy was hastily sold to Shakhtar Donetsk to raise much-needed funds for the club.

From last summer...

Wouldn't it be great to see the reaction Uefa get if Barca continue to record losses and they tried to kick them out of the Champions League.

Their new sponsorship gave them what, £100+mil right? And the CL victory in itself gave them £120mil.
I think they are in a rather safe financial situation.

They couldn't sell Iniesta just to make a lot of money, no way. Iniesta himself would have to want to move as well.
Imagine the Barca fans reaction if Iniesta came out in public and said he was devastated as the club pushed him out to make a few quid. Not going to happen, ever.
The only reason he would leave that club would be because he wanted to.
