Andy Carroll

I can't be the only one who thinks £15m is still way too much for him??

5m is too much

Liverpool would be laughing if they hadn't paid over twice that.

We would not have made top 10 without him, that is worth the 15mill in itself. You paid 26mill for James Milner !

never seen a player of his ability, he's control, vision, heading and posistioning is out of this world - Add to the fact he is still very young and the formation is set up to play to his strengths

You'd make a great chairman mate, that's exactly what Ashley said when Liverpool came to visit!!

All i can say is if youve never seen a player of his ability, control, vision, heading and positioning is take the binoculars off him and watch the other teams when they come to play theres a whole other world out there

I think he is good enough to play for England at the moment.
Over Wellshit, crocked Defoe, an unsettled and on the wane Rooney, he doesn't face stiff competition.
I don't really rate him, I think Newcastle/West Ham is his level about and it show's how bad England's prospects appear to be.

Whilst Balotelli had a shit half season for us, £17m for him, just £2m more than Carroll sums it up for me, English so overpriced.
How the fuck welbeck gets in the England team is beyond me. Same goes to cleverley and smalling. Three utterly shite united players and one wanker (rooney) who on his day can be good. No wonder I can't get enthusiastic about the England team. And yes it really does say worlds about the national team that I think Carroll should be starting.
I've just highlighted the reason they get into the team for you. It's clear as day for everyone, but I just had to!

To be fair Wellbeck has a 3% chance conversion this season, why would we not want a player who can bury 1 in every 33 chances.

Carroll is a decent player, a proper handful on his day and fits WHU perfectly, good move for them though. 'Never seen a player of his ability' is a hilarious comment though!

I think Welbeck is generally better for England than the rags 1 in 3 rate as well. Dont like the **** but he does put in a shift for England

In a west ham shirt i should add !

I'm happy for the lad.

It's not his fault Liverpool were absolutely buggered and robbed blind by Newcastle. It's their fault for paying so high and leaving themselves open after selling Torres. Fact of matter is they were short in numbers prior to selling Torres and should've bought another striker anyway. Them buying Suarez on top would've been a good move.

£35mill for Carroll is criminal, however football moves on and Carroll shouldn't have this burden anymore. He should turn up to a game and be judged the same as all other players, on merit of performance, not what he is paid or cost to buy.

Young, English and hungry. Good look to the lad.

For the record, he should've kept his place in Euro's instead of Shrek getting to start after suspension. Hodgson royally fucked up with that. The state of Shrek was terrible, he should've been left out the side and solely got his place on stature rather than merit which goes against everything Hodgson had promised.
