Andy Gray leaves Sky Sports (continued)

I can't be arsed to read the full thread, but I don't see the issue, surely if a woman can not play in the league they should not be able to officiate in it?

Also, if doing what Andy Gray has done is more than enough to get the sack then I can not understand why I still have a job?

Not yet they don't.

FFS you pedant, yes they do, my wife and I and everyone I know will have to retire at the same fucking age, 67 probably unless they put it up again. Now go have a fucking lie down.
But he is right and you are wrong, technically.

Fact is he not well liked in the game. It looks harsh but same would happen with most jobs. One of them had to go over this with the sky takeover in the press they needed this like a hole in the head. They used it as an excuse to get rid of him so keys can keep his job.

Personally I would like to see him go into management then he can put into practice all the crap he has been spouting for the last few years.

Good riddance to him, another of Slur Alex's bum boys.

Apparantly he was offered the Evtn job but bottled it a few years ago.

This thread brings two classic South Park moments to mind:

That put a smile on my face.

The whole thing reminds me of Anchorman. "Its Anchorman! Not Anchor-lady!"

What is this bra burning obsession you have with women's rights? They can stick up for themselves without you seeing your arse every time someone speaks the truth. The truth being they don't have the patience, temperament or fair mindedness that is required to boss the modern game.

Check andy out in this one. <a class="postlink" href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4cS8OkAiXCI&feature=player_embedded" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4cS8OkAi ... r_embedded</a>
This is the one that has done for him apparently, the lineswoman comments are the final straw in a list of apparent thick as pig shit comments made by gray
Yes he's thick as pig shit but there is no way he deserved the sack over either incident.

If Graham Norton or Allan Carr said the same to a male production assistant it would be passed off for what it is, a joke.

Gray has been well and truly stitched up, maybe threatening to sue another arm of News Corp didn't go down too well with the big Boss, who knows?

Shame really because the headlines should be about a female assistant ref getting every call she had to make bang on, some of which I have no doubt her male counterparts would have got wrong.

My honest opinion is that female officials currently add a difficult level of uncertainty in terms of addressing conflict. Imagine six players surrounding a female referee, shouting and bawling because they all want a free kick. But would that ever happen? Imagine the furore.

Imagine, for instance, a player calling a female official a 'Stupid woman c*nt'. The fallout would be insane.
Actually this is a great point, in fact it would be great to see because I don't think it would happen in that the blokes would think twice about saying those things to a woman, in fact it would probably the only way to cut the abuse out of the game.

Agreed Maverick. That's exactly the point i was gonna make when i read the above post - I dont think the players would do that, and i certainly dont think it would be tolerated like it is the male refs
