There is, of course, still a vacancy at Technical Director as well given the departure of Mike Rigg, which was announced before the end of the season. Lele Oriali, who had that role at Inter when Mancini was there, was linked to us a while back after Mancini commented positively about him in the media. Wonder if he might be a candidate.

I have followed Citys fortunes and I have no idea who the guy is,do we need them?

I think Mike Rigg was what used to be called in old money the Chief Scout. IIRC, when Hughes brought him to City, that's what Rigg's job title was. His role may have been redefined or expanded later when his new title was awarded, but I don't remember that ever being discussed publicly so it's just conjecture.

But, yes, I presume that we would need someone doing the job he did and that a replacement is on the way this summer.

Ah,Chief Scout in old money,thanks.

They use computers now to store information and write long reports about potential targets, so they need a fancy new job title! ;)

anyone on twitter should checkout the timeline of @GedCoyne1
bit of an eye opener about whats going on behind the scenes at city.
It does not sound good !

Isn't he the bitter one who got the boot over the Facebook/Ferguson incident and is always slagging the club off now?

Just checked this out... Not sure how he's qualified to say all that stuff. Sounds nuts.

The bloke is a clown, he was on there a few months ago blabbing that Mancini and Balotelli had a fight. From what I've heard he is now a dogsbody at Oldham Athletic which should explain the slaughtering he appears to be giving everyone at the club.

Marwood is criticised by some on here, but I'd be surprised if he were fired given that he was singled out for particular and quite fulsome praise in Khaldoon's post-season official site interview.Don't see Khaldoon saying what he did if Marwood's position was under threat.

Interesting that Lombardo is going to coach the EDS now. Maybe a battle won by Mancini, getting his man in there rather than someone appointed without his input?

There is, of course, still a vacancy at Technical Director as well given the departure of Mike Rigg, which was announced before the end of the season. Also, wasn't Welsh was the senior football person at the Academy as well as coaching the EDS? Mark Allen, nominally the Head of the Academy, was recruited as the club's head of HR and is more an administrator, I think. So presumably there'll be a new recruit alongside him, specialising in youth coaching.

I have followed Citys fortunes and I have no idea who the guy is,do we need them?

Wee bit of experience...

If someone like Lombardo was in charge of the EDS it would probably give the lads more of a chance of getting first team shots as Lombardo is in Bobby's ear all the time and there is a connection between the two whereas I doubt Bobby and Welsh shared a beer after work.

I assumed he was talking about Mike Rigg, mate, given that he put it in bold. I said that we'd be looking to replace the guy, and Tblisi asked if it was necessary, hence the conversation about Chief Scouts and stuff.
