Anelka

Having just watched the above video, I can't believe Anelka and Nasri were stupid enough to get mixed up in all of this. They might see it as some sort of harmless joke, but it's now clear from the video that it has some very dodgy undertones.

It may be a case of some nutters misappropriating a symbol for their own beliefs (like the NF with the Union Jack), but there's clearly no place for this kind of shit in football.
Thanks for posting...I wasn't sure what all the fuss was about until watching that and I have to say for any high profile person to get involved with it needs there head checking or is ignorant to what it's all about

Then I'm afraid you have missed my point completely....

This "convo" is not in football it's in a forum........

Have you ever criticised British politicians, any British person, or anything at all about this country?

Too many times to remember tbh, you presume too much my friend, don't get all heated and personal it's a forum as I said, we can learn from each other, I have learnt many lessons on here, maybe we all have.....

Just making the point that you could criticise things to do with the UK without necessarily being "anti-Anglican".

Anelka has always been a trouble causing shitbag.

He knew exactly what he was doing as he did with that other stupid finger gesture he used to use at Chelsea.

Oh by the way for the idiots who think Nasri is doing it - it's the wrong bloody arm!!

Sunday supplement guys were all scathing about Anelka, though the gesture means nothing to most people in the UK. Any racist gesture needs to be stamped down upon, in what is a global game. Suarez got his ban; Anelka will get one for this. And if any of City's lot do likewise, I wouldn't defend them.

Anelka has openly admitted that he's performing Dieudonne's salute.

A simple statement saying he was completely unaware of any controversy around it would be a good start.

That would just add blatant liar to the charges wouldn't it?

I've no idea, other than what I've read on here this morning, what it is all about. But if someone is prepared to make some sort of political statement, if that's what it was, on a football pitch, for all to see, they should have the bollocks to defend their actions when the shit hits the fan.

I'm not sure it's as cut and dried as that. It's clear that the idiots in the video I posted are up to no good with this salute, but like I said earlier, I suppose there's a chance it's been misappropriated by them and that Dieudonne's intentions aren't the same as theirs.

It may be possible to know about a seemingly innocent enough gesture and not know about its use by other dickheads with much more sinister motives. Who knows how much Anelka really knew, but he'd do well to immediately distance himself from the sort of clowns in that video.

Probably because Martin Lipton who was on the show is an east end Jewish Tottenham fan, Anelka has always been trouble.

Fair enough. I've not watched your video. ( at work )

Agreed, as it has clearly upset some people, he should offer an explanation.

If that explanation is, he's seen his mate do it. Doesn't really know what it means but thought he'd copy it for a laugh, then fair enough. Some people might not believe him but that's tough shit.

My only point is, if he was doing it to make some sort of statement, it was all a bit pointless if he now bottles it and claims he meant nothing by it.
