Angel Di Maria

Di Maria seems grosssly underrated here. He is a rapid run at the defender kind of player. Kind of like Navas. But his vision is way better, and some of his touch passes are something to behold.

It is true he loses the ball some, and can be quite selfish sometimes. But in my mind if we get Di Maria and Navas on the wings, thne those 2 togethr would be better than just signing Bale, That is how good tha acquisition will be. We'd have our version of Bayern's Robben and Ribery tearing up the wings. It would be fantastic.

He is a great footballer but he has that habit of going down when a player gets within 12 feet of him
Which if he played for the rags would mean an extra 20pts a season but for us ten games missing through suspension.

Has anyone complaining he goes to ground too easy considered the fact that the game in Spain is more tactical and players go down easier in general over there? The English game is more physical, it wouldn't take long for him to realise that he needs to stand up more over here or that referees won't punish every foul on him.

Judging him on his footballing ability alone I would take him. Navas and Di Maria on the wings would be a great option to have.

Di Maria is awesome, anybody who thinks otherwise will change their mind within 10 games of him playing!

Juan Sebastian Veron was a machine before he came to England. Doesn't always work out
Di Maria will work out. Veron was more of an intelligence player. So if ur teammates don't get ur vision you might suck. Di Maria is simply speed and skill. Quintessentially English style. Everyone gets "he is about to run at you" football in England :)

If were going to play with wingers what concerns me is the strikers we have. We only have Dzeko that can get up for high crosses, Aguero and Tevez will be ineffective against tall centre backs. I'm still not sure I trust Dzeko to do a job for us next season and would feel more comfortable with another striker who has some heading ability.

What are you suggesting, signing a battering ram like Andy Carrol?

Wingers can cross the ball on the ground, you know, which is in fact usually more effective (especially with our generally shit crossing).

They can, but if they have to then they lose 50% of their effectiveness. A lack of headed goals is one of the things which made us 2nd.
