Angel Di Maria

I think they should give us Pepe and Di Maria as part of the non aggression pact, which allowed them to get Isco. Then all we need is another striker (Villa/Gomez) and a goal keeper(Gordon) then we are ready to take off.

Di Maria is a right winger, we just bought one of them!.

If we are gonig to go for another winger its gonna be a lefty!.
Actually he's always been a left winger at Benfica, but got moved to accomodate Ronaldo

Ah ok, Ta for the info, I've only ever seen him at Real playing on the right.

Well at Benfica they converted Coentrao to a leftback so Di Maria could play on the leftwing. He drifts all over the place anyway tbh, he'd go inside then cut back onto his left or just run diagonally across the entire pitch. No discipline whatsoever but incredibly direct and hreatening

This guy is very ordinary. Plus why the fuck would we want to make it easy for Madrid, getting rid of Di Maria to us for probably the same money they paid for Isco and opening up a place in the team for him. No thanks.

He isn't ordinary at all. Thats just a ridiculous thing to say. He isn't top top class but he is certainly a CL level player with potential to become even better as his decision making improves with Experience. At this moment in time he is better than Isco and Nasri.

-- Thu Jun 27, 2013 2:25 pm --

He also has real eye for the incisive through ball which is a real bonus as he can create havoc playing like a traditional winger, then cut inside and play clever passes through to the strikers

just clicked the link above and was surprised to see the length on the contract RM gave him - 8 years. Is that their normal practise?

If they're going to move Di Maria, they're going to find someone who will buy him. The place will be opened regardless of what we do. The question is if, given that, you want to be the team that he plays for. There's no room for anger and emotion in negotiation and squad building.

He'd be ordinary in our team is what i meant to say. Nasri isn't a winger and he shouldn't play there so shouldn't really be compared directly but i believe he's an overall superior player to Di Maria. Can't see what he'd bring to the team that we don't already have now in Navas.
