Di Maria's got the workrate though.

He's got a good workrate but that doesn't make him a midfielder that should have a lot of defensive duties. He can chase down opposition defenders but they wouldn't want him playing LWB and having navas, hazard, aguero, sanchez, sterling etc running at him. We would though.

A step towards being a force, like buying Mata? How did that turn out? It will need more than waving a check book under the noses or any club wanting rid, Di Maria is just another Nani, in that he will flatter to deceive, pull off the odd mazy run, but give the ball away every other time, did you see him in the WC? 16 crosses, all but one shocking in one game, and a goals to shot ratio on par with Corradi!!!
If he's so good, why are Real selling/ letting go? The same reason LVG said Wellbeck can leave...

Ancelotti didn't want to let him go. Di Maria is a lot better than Nani. Like i said earlier he'll do alright if he signs for them but his impact will be lessened by the fact the have a completely unbalanced squad.

I agree with Big Oscar's post and Di Maria gives away too much possession which totally goes against the system we are playing, We haven't extended Nasri's for shits and giggles.
I like Nasri, but Di Maria is one of the best players in the world.

Everyone would have there own World 11. Here's mine just out of interest.

Di Maria would be on my bench

-------------------------Neuer
Lahm-----Kompany--Thiago Silva--Marcelo
Robben-----Bale----Ronaldo----Neymar
-------------Messi------Ibrahimovic

Subs: Valdes, Suarez, Di Maria, Lewandowski, Xavi, Pepe, Muller

I don't think City will buy him, but it's important he doesn't end up at Old Trafford. I don't think that will happen as he wouldn't really fit a 3-5-2, but I'd say the same about Robben and for me Robben carried Holland at the World Cup who of course play the system LVG is committed to at MUFC

Bale and ronaldo center mids, may aswell stick Martin petrov left back.

Or david james up front....

You do make me laugh, Marv. Can never make my mind up whether you're on the wum a lot of the time - that is the funniest midfield I've ever seen.
It's not very well thought out. I was trying to squeeze the best 11 players into 11. The back 5 and front two is OK, but need to drop Ronaldo and Neymar and put in a couple of grafters.

It's not easy being a manager ;

I started with Robben and Bale and then thought I can't have a World 11 without Ronaldo and Neymar. Needs more work.

If De Maria is a great player why are none of the top sides going for him. PSG are clearly affected by the financial foul play situation but, apart from them, United look like they have a clear run here.

I am sure he wants to play for a top side in the Champions League but would most probably sign for United if no other options are available.

Bayern have Robben and Ribery, Barca Neymar and Suarez, Chelsea have like 5 wingers, Liverpool wont be able to pay his fee, arsenal dont need him as they signed sanchez and have a lot of Attacking midfielders too.

Because only a very small handful of clubs can buy at the prices asked. It's a small market for a few wealthy clubs. City, Chelsea (they already have 100 attacking midfielders), United (in pole position), PSG (were going to sign him before they suddenly remembered FFP), Barcelona (reported to have had a bid turned down), Real Madrid... and in theory Bayern Munich but can't see them spending £45m-£50m on a winger. Had Monaco's owner not stopped the giant investment, I think they would have gone for him.
