We must be prepared to keep him as the premier league is considering increasing the home grown quota. He is one of our own even though we do not feel so.
All players lose possession multiple times a game, even strikers, I guess they're all defensive mistakes.
We should attack and defend as a team. The problem last season was that we didn't, we relied too heavily on individuals (De Bruyne) to create something out of nothing, especially for the first goal in games. The two previous seasons we had a variety of patterns of play, we would rotate the fullback, #8 and winger on occasions, we would create overloads in central midfield, we would drag teams into a press and go long with the pace we had on the wings. This season that's happened infrequently, we have played slowly through central midfield with very little movement (in comparison to previous seasons, not in general before anyone flies off the handle), then given the ball to De Bruyne in the hope he can hit a pass only De Bruyne could hit, or given to Sterling and Mahrez in the hope they can dribble inside and shoot. It's been predictable and boring, once the first goal has gone in its a different story because defending teams open up a bit.You attack as a team and defend as a team.
That's the problem this last season, poor individual defensive errors, lack of mobility in the middle of the park and Jesus apart lack defending/pressing from the forward line.
I don't personally don't think Jesus is good enough, but, he is outstanding in terms of our first line of defence, incredible high energy pressing. I understand why Pep sometimes plays him in front of Kun in big games.
It was a mistake, I've never denied that but you clearly struggle with the concept of defensive mistakes and retaining possession. Like I said if every time a player lost possession was considered a defensive mistake, our front three and midfield three would be far more guilty than our back four. You consider a defensive mistake anything a defender does. It's semantics, we won't agree because we have a fundamental difference in what we consider a defensive mistake. I'm not arguing it wasn't a mistake, never have and never will, just not a defensive one.Oleksandr Zinchenko makes frank apology after mistake in Southampton defeat

Even the player admits it was a mistake, but not you?
The defensive mistakes is no myth, our CBs , Laporte apart are not good enough we have no LB.We should attack and defend as a team. The "defensive mistakes" theory is bit of a myth, yes we're guilty of defensive mistakes just like everyone else but this rubbish that is spouted on here like it's 25 times a game is simply not true. Our style of play requires fast and intensive pressing from everybody, we can carry one player at times but this season we've been carrying two or more (Silva, Gundogan, Aguero, Rodri, Mahrez) in the majority of games before the ball even reaches the defence.
If we get the "pressing" back to the level it was the previous two seasons, the defence won't be as exposed and our defenders won't be left isolated 1vs1 as many times, meaning even less defensive mistakes.
I would be quite happy if he stayed at City. My opinion of him has gone up a lot. His move to Leipzig was very good for the player and he has gone up in everyone's opinion.
Talk about pedantic or what. At the end of the day, despite what you say our defence is not good enough too much dead wood, time to move on Otamendi, Zinchenko and Stones all have made far too many mistakes this season, however you want to dress it up.It was a mistake, I've never denied that but you clearly struggle with the concept of defensive mistakes and retaining possession. You keep repeating the "defensive mistakes" myth but you're not willing to prove it, it's all hot air. Highlight the defensive mistakes and explain what a better CB would have done, I can absolutely guarantee any clip you find, I can find you a clip of Koulibaly, Van Dijk or Kompany making a similar mistake. If it's frequency you're talking about, again feel free to highlight the numbers and why they're so much higher than anyone else or our previous seasons. You won't because you can't because it's a myth. The defensive mistakes is no myth, our CBs , Laporte apart are not good enough we have no LB.
I agree about midfield. An aging Silva, imobile Guno and Rodri, Bernardo badly out of form. We are in desperate need of legs and power in the middle of the park, as well as leadership.
Mate he's had surgery on both knees. Remember when Pep said it takes about 20 full games to get match fitness and rhythm back? Of course it could take him slightly more time before he's fully back again, but he's shown that he can do fine, at least latter half of season. Yes that howler was an absolute brain fart but it can happen when you're down on confidence too?I still see him farting about at Wolves by the dead ball line. What top class pro would fuck up like that?
