The EU would have presumably welcomed the restitution of the level playing field on rights and environment in the political declaration. Just because a few Labour MPs can't see or don't care what the Tories want to do doesn't mean the amendments would have "stopped" Brexit.

Oh I'm convinced conservatives will win and that a hard brexit (possibly a no deal) is on the horizon. I've got no expectations of the upcoming election.

I just can't see it sorry. The only thing I could maybe see is conservatives winning but not being able to secure a majority, and there was some sort of rainbow coalition between lab, lib, SNP and maybe a few minority parties with the sole intention of achieving a second referendum.
