Wiki https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raising_of_school_leaving_age

The school leaving age in Germany is essentially set at 18. However, it does differ depending on the school type. For example, those attending a Gymnasium study for their Abitur and so leave at a later age of 18 than those for example attending a Berufsschule (16) or a Hauptschule (also 16).[3]
That wasn't the source I was asking for, the source I would like to see is the one where the UK hide unemployment figures and the source that states the EU publish the correct figures including zero hour contracts etc because and this may come to a shock to you they have them also.

Insults ... the last resort of those that know they lost the argument before it even began ... Samuel Leghorn Clemens (A forriner)
Insults?

Genuine question /observation mate

There is not any problem you cause Leavers with what you post - it is just a source of amusement - keep it up.

BTW - reread your post again and ask yourself what argument you are winning with that childish drivel

It is not one on here

The EU will look after its own .... it will solve the unemployment problem created by Covid19 by increasing production and selling both internally and externally under trade agreements that they dont have to negotiate ... there is nothing that the UK produces or manufactures that they cant make themselves ...and avoid the protracted negotiations , customs checks , collection of tariffs, quality checks etc

The virus is the game changer

We hid ours behind zero hours contracts mate ... and forcing kids to stay in education till 18 (not an Eu policy) ..... Europe is stating correct figures ... here in the UK we're playing card games ....

"Forcing kids to stay in education".

Tory Bastards!

You omitted the bit about 'nationalism' .... wrapping yourself in a flag and talking about the Dunkirk spirit & how we beat the Germans (two world wars and one world cup) ... how things were never 'like this in the old days' and how everything went down hill because 'of the forrins' ... How you cant get an appointment at the doctors any more , roads are clogged, schools overcrowded , because of the 'Forrins' .... how the 'true brits' go out on St Georges day to celebrate naked from the waist up showing their racist tattoos , making nazi salutes outside the Shambles in a city where the people went on strike to support the slaves and the Union in the American Civil War

It was never about sovereignty (we always had that), the ability to make our own laws (we always did that) or the ability to do trade deals (we always had that) it was always about ' the forrins' they just won't admit it
None of this was ever uttered on here. These demons exist purely inside your own head.

You paint such a pretty picture of the UK.

WHy would the EU want the UK if it's as awful as you claim?

Tempted to repeat my rhetorical question.....

But no need - we can all just laugh

You do realise before Covid-19, Italy, Spain, Portugal all had horrendous unemployment figures and have for years, why didn't the EU sort them out before that ?
Good points

Will those of limited thinking understand??

The virus like every other Socio Economic woe to appear in the news is touted by Remainers as a reason to remain. It's all bollocks. EU membership costs us far more than we get in return even if it's nowhere near the famous figure on the side of a bus. The only factual change that the virus has brought about within the EU to date is a hike in the budget for the next seven years with a dictated austerity budget to the poorer states in return for loans and a bigger bill to the net contributors. These are facts, and the whole thing is in danger of going tits up as Spain and Italy are now stuffed and it's down to France and Germany in the absence of the UK to prop up the continent - no wonder there's talk of chucking out some poor countries. The sums just don't work anymore and covid is exposing the con.
Utterly spot on

The Remainers on here are - IMO - just avoiding the soooo obvious facts or simply don't understand the basics of the topic

We have left so we should stop segregating people into Leavers and Remainers.

Perhaps it should now be Brexit Embracers and Brexit Deniers. ;-)

Tbh mate they actually have some very valid points and may even be correct about some of it. I've just no time for the ones that are so quick to rubbish others opinions and present their own as facts, so I tend to do the same back.

Whilst Brexit is currently about as relevant as tits on a bull there is a certain amusement in watching the Govt desperately trying to figure out how not to implement the things it signed up to in the Withdrawal Agreement from an EU presence in Belfast to custom controls at UK ports for trade between mainland GB and NI.

Our default approach seems to be one of sulky hostility with bouts of outrage.

Some light relief from the more pressing problems.

As one of the larger members, and some of the not so large, now think the EU is about much use
as tits on a bull, and with Barnier told to get real and stop demanding control of the UK's territory,
the amusement is rib tickling here.

You do realise that posts like this just reaffirm everything we have said about the EU and its intentions and actions to anyone who dares rock the boat?

FTA is on the way that suits all it is that simple because without one, the EU is finished!
Maybe it's not what you meant, but I took the "rock the boat" bit to be a reference to the possibility of expelling Hungary. If so, do you call having a fascist dictatorship "rocking the boat"?

Because we have other nations waiting to do trade deals also and we're not going to keep them hanging on forever waiting for the EU to make up it's mind what it wants from the UK.
And (an old argument but true) any deal we get with other nations will be no better than what we had in the EU, and in some cases will be worse (for the UK).

Actually, I think that you are projecting what you wish to see happen.

I do not mean that you wish ill for the UK - but some of you are so stuck in your dogma you seem to want to take your bigging up of the EU to the extreme - just to be on the 'winning side'.

If not you should be able to recognise the simple and, IMO, undeniable facts that:

  • The EU are seeking to impose constraints on the UK way beyond what it places into their agreements with other independent states
  • The EU suggested FTA in no way reflects a Canada ++ - it is a dreadful Canada ------------. We are just seeking what they offer other independent states
  • Therefore the EU deal is indeed worse than no-deal and should not be remotely entertained.
  • If there is to be no compromise from the EU then it is best we get on with the implementation of the changes and recoveries to address the resultant issues - further delay through extensions when nothing is on offer is wholly detrimental.

Simples really...….
Are there any Leavers who don't wish ill for the EU? Do you really want its collapse just to prove you were right?

Calling it as you see it all seems very reasonable, but you did a lot more than that and you continue to do so.

You were insistent that those that expressed an alternative view were utterly wrong and you were were highly dismissive and offensive in your tone.

You should - I humbly suggest - undertake a period of reflection as the simple facts are...….

  • That you were proven wrong
  • The Leavers on here were proven to be correct - in the build up to the referendum and at all stages since - and, I suggest, that is highly likely to be the case again.
But do you? - no - you carry on stating your certainty despite your track record.

Speaking for one of those that have been proven to be correct - forgive me for not overly caring about your 'statements of certainty'

There is a phrase; "...when you are in a hole....."

Oh and BTW - what is this ".....even if we get the FTA that you are all hanging your hat on."???

I cannot recall hanging any hat on any such FTA - the opposite if anything
Divide and rule: split the Leavers between those who do want an FTA and those who don't.

But I thought you did want a FTA, and all the UK's posturing was to show the EU that we had a viable threat of a walkaway option if we didn't get a FTA, but only in order to get a FTA. So you really don't want a FTA?
