Another new Brexit thread

Why would any sane government bin a currency union and leave a single market, with freedom of movement, that would be crazy. :-)
Single Market?
I can think of at least two. Could be more depending on what happens with the overseas territories.

Now now, there's no need to be rude to each other. Let's leave the lost battle behind and move on together towards a vibrant rejoining campaign. Look after our star EU - we'll be back :-)

Perhaps as a gesture of their warmth they might keep our seat at the table - in the hope of our return

What is it about the concept of ‘reading’ that you and your fellow Brexiteers have difficulty in comprehending?

Is it just your prefer an echo chamber, a room of mirrors where your views are endlessly reflected back to you?

Very strange, but here is how it works. US media interview Biden officials and get their views on a wide range of topics, domestic and foreign. I read these interviews and note the parts that relate to Europe.

This is not difficult, requires no particular insight from me and can be done by anyone. I urge you to try it.

You need to have a word with this guy

Brexit 101

do you recall our experts on the German car industry? Those who were WTO experts and proponents of GATT 24? Or maybe those border experts who were suddenly and starkly shown that a shared border has two sides and two countries in control?

Brexit - full of know nowt experts
Oh yes. GATT 24 - would have been a great idea if it was what they wanted it to be not what it was. Another example of where a bit of reading would have avoided a lot of embarrassment.

She's now got to sell leaving a trade agreement with the EU and enter into negotiations to rejoin which could take years.

Vote for independence, likely lose the Shetland Islands, get a couple of years uncertainty outside the UK and EU unions, then rejoin the EU, adopt the Euro, join the Eurozone, Schengen, the massive debt contributions and EU budget payments. Sign me up.
What's not to like

HM Govt of Gibraltar...

The treaty to be negotiated will deal with maximised and unrestricted mobility of persons between #Gibraltar and the #Schengen area.. almost at the last minute, the negotiation is successfully completed and the clock has stopped ticking. We are going to avert the worst effects of a hard #Brexit.‘
