Surely a rejoin movement is legitimate? Leavers got their way after 40 years of campaigning. So why not?

i think if we had another referendum in 40 years I’d be alright with that

They might not want a new member who wont sign up to the ''closer political integration'' that we signed up to in The Treaty of Rome'' and then spent close on 50 years trying not to get involved in closer political integration.

Correct, so both sides are happier. That’s exactly what I’ve been saying for 4 years. Britain never bought into the closer political integration and never will. Now we’re out they can get on and build their paradise, let’s just see if the people of Europe really want what they’re offering. They no longer have the Brits to blame if it goes tits up.

Funny thing is is that a lot of the 27 nations were blaming the Brits for holding them back. I'm just shocked they didn't ask us to leave sooner.

He is surely just exercising his rights as an individual - what is it that you find wrong with that?

Or lobby the Biden admin to ease them. Biden wants to re-engage with the EU and has already prioritised links with Paris and Berlin over London.

A lot of the Biden team are from the Obama days and they haven’t forgotten or forgiven Johnson’s ’part Kenyan‘ dig.

Of course. Should be interesting watching them explain how giving up sovereignty, control of borders, laws and economics will benefit us. Not forgetting, of course, that new members are obliged to give up their currency (and therefore any control of the economy) and join the success that is the €

In the end though brexit won't be judged as good or bad on political stuff like integration, which court settles trade disputes, whether foreign fishermen can catch 25 or 30% less fish.
Opinions long term will be based purely on personal situations, on jobs, prices, economy, getting the shopping they want when they want it. If that all stays the same most people will lose interest in the eu as a subject and be happy, if those things go badly then it will carry on being a political hot potato.
