No, this deal is no where near what the Leave Campaign promised, unless you think the Leave Campaign promised increased trade barriers, an internal customs border between GB and NI, and a 2,000 page deal still being haggled over with 7 days to go for businesses to adjust to a new customs and regulatory regime on which they have zero information.

This isn’t even what Johnson promised in the election campaign with his ‘oven ready deal’ and no checks or customs border between GB and NI.

The deal is as a failure based on what was promised in 2016, and the outcome in terms of our compromised sovereignty with NI is a failure for our own Union.

The only positive is the uptick in turd polishing and memory wipes.
Oh I don't know. I think we might still be in a sort of Free Trade Zone from Iceland to the Russian border.

Von der Leyen thanks Frost for being tough but fair. But she's sad - quoting Shakespeare, "parting is such sweet sorrow" and TS Elliot (nearly) "the end is a beginning".

Nothing, it stays as it is.

NI is in our Customs Union and the EUs, for the foreseeable, until the technology is available for the border to remain seamless with them leaving the EU CU.

When that day comes, NI’s parliament will vote on doing so.
No problem, really.

#Not my President

Only Suprised they took so long the majority are EU citizens stranded by EU actions
Ah, so we could have organised something but obviously wanted to put pressure on Macron to lift the blockade....

(Isn't that how it works?)

Two sets of relief for me today:

- this deal

- my cat’s been missing for 2 days for the first time ever and he’s appeared on my neighbours cctv last night, at 2am, so he’s at least not trapped

Sorry, just wanted to get it off my chest.
Great stuff, he'll be back, unless he's still in possession of his gonads, in which case, being Christmas, he's looking for his 5th shag.

Hooray

deal done

Over 600,000 vaccinated as well

happy xmas

Ha ha fuck me stop clutching them straws, this lot are a shitshow blaging it.

This ain't the deal brexiteers signed up for, nowt wrong with saying they have settled.

As for the pandemic nothing is positive on that front

Farage with a brilliant tweet and finally being honest. We have a sh*te deal but at least we beat the game against the politicians...Yes, beating politicians was exactly what every person voted for, it's the game we all signed up for and it's certainly worth the turd being posted through everyone's letterbox imminently.

This is an exceptional deal for the EU, one which suits them and changes very little for them. For us it changes a huge amount, it f*cks up the union and will cause immeasurable problems in comparison for decades to come.

Back slaps all around, for people like Farage this will swill nicely with that £200 bottle in the mansion tonight.

vaccinations against a deadly pandemic isn’t a good thing?

You need help.

But mate, to be fair thats just the natural consequence of the original decision. Once that was made, it was just what flavour of bad do you want?

I think i'm going to wait to see the detail before I get too excited about this.

However any deal has got to be a positive for the country, the bedlam a no deal brexit would have brought on top of Covid doesnt bare thinking off.

Boris has gone from zero to hero in a flash. Get the country vaccinated by April and he could go down as the greatest PM ever? I’m not a conservative voter either.
Steady now mate, I’m no remainer but Boris has proper fucked is over this pandemic and I won’t forget, not that I ever voted for them anyway.
