i like the fact we are been linked with the best youth players in world football, we need ot build for the future as well as for today

Re: Gai Assulin

I reckon we'll sign him in January. The coaching staff obviously see something in him if they're waiting for him to come back from his injury. He doesn't need to be registered in the 25 either does he?

City line up deal with 'new Messi'

Manchester City hope to tie up former Barcelona kid Gail Assulin.

The talented young Israeli, once dubbed the ‘new Messi,’ has flown in for a medical ahead of signing for City and fulfilling his dream of coming to England.

Assulin, just 19, can sign for City immediately as he is a free agent after cancelling his deal at the Camp Nou. He impressed Roberto Mancini’s staff on his previous visit two months ago.

The teenage starlet hopes to be clear of the injury that stopped him signing on his first trip - and City are poised to bring him into their squad as soon as possible if he is fit.

Assulin could not play in the Premier League at this stage and with City out of the Carling Cup he would probably be groomed in the reserves or even sent out on loan.

City insiders were raving about Assulin on his arrival as he has qualities they lack in their emerging group of players and he could make a future for himself despite the huge opposition in their expensive squad
.

Looks like hes ours :)

Re: Gai Assulin

Why can't he play in the Premier League? He's an U-21, they don't have to be registered?

Silva, AJ, Balotelli, Tevez, Adebayor, SWP, Milner

He's not ready yet

I understand that but the article wrote it in a way that suggested he can't play in the Premier League for some legal reason.

They're wrong... he would be able to play. There's a reason it's nicknamed the Daily Fail.

Re: Gai Assulin

But I heard a rumor about him......
He is easy to injury .........
So, no club give a offer to him.

Re: Gai Assulin

from <a class="postlink" href="http://www.gaiassulin.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">www.gaiassulin.com</a> (translated by google) which claims to be his official site

After having been abandoned the discipline of FC Barcelona, Gai Assulin want to go to a European giant . Although there are several clubs interested in him as Tottenham , Arsenal or Blackburn Rovers, the team has been training lately , Manchester City appears to be the club most interested in the player

Re: Gai Assulin

Hey guys, I am watching Assulin from a very young age and this boy is very talented.
Creative and skillful, realy great with the ball and allways dangerous.
Will he become a great player? I really can't guarantee it. still too early to say.

But you are getting a fantastic prospect for the future for free. so i cant understand some of the negative comments here.

New Messi Having Medical?

The story is breaking over on the Transfer Forum, but just thought it would be worth mentioning on here as well... as reported in Daily Mirror today:
