I've wondered around this site for a while now, and I've wondered should I join or not. But this incident with Tevez and the general banter has decided it for me.
And apologies now because my first post is going to be long.
To start I'm an Irish Blue, not sure how many you lot get around here, but been one since I can remember..a terrible affliction I've been told by many.
But to start, Tevez is an excellent player. Overrated by some I'm afraid, but an excellent player he is and will remain to be regardless of his attitude.
What he did the other night, it was nothing short of disgraceful, swing it anyway you wont, over and back again and it wont make it look any better.
He should never wear OUR jersey again. Now these professional players have it all mixed up. See they are renting our jersey. The club existed long before they came and will do so long after they leave.
His actions were selfish and spits in the face of any normal person, any other Blue who has put all their time and money and effort into following them around the place.
We are in the time of a recession, so when we spend our money, to go and fly to Germany or to buy season tickets, we expect one thing. An acceptable effort. While everything has changed in City, our fundamentals haven't, the attitude of the fans of old haven't. We don't expect us to win every game 10-0/5-0/hell the really old school fans still half expect us not to win at all. But what we do expect, no matter the competition or the outlook, no matter how badly things are going, is an effort. Do everything you can, give everything you have and we'll ask nothing more.
And they get paid enough for it. Paid enough so that they damn sure better work for it.
See we've been spoiled lately, and unfortunately it's cause a bit of shortsightedness. See what some people are slowly learning these days is that it is irrelevant how much we spend or who we buy, you cannot force team spirit. And it's fine mostly, but it highlights and separates, particularly when things go to the dogs, who wants to be here for City and who came for the money.
Carlos Tevez, for me lacks heart, a player who can easily leave a club and go to their neighbors, who despise each other, always seemed a little..odd.
But it was fine when he worked and did well, but he is does not want to be here, he is disgracing the jersey and making a laughing stock out of us.
He is also undermining Mancini, and the can't happen. A manager so be absolutely respected in an almost dictatorial sense, (God forgive me)..like the scum Ferguson. This would not have happened there. And Mancini needs to fix it fast before another player, too big for their boots decides that he isn't happy either.
Tevez may not have wanted to stay at this club, but he did, and while he is getting paid the ridiculous wage he is, he should bloody hell have to work for it.
It is a slap in Mancini's face, our face, and the face of every player who would give their right hand to be playing at a professional level, never mind the Champions League.
You are lucky enough to be asked to go on, and he refuses, who the hell does he think he is.
Ship him off on the next ferry out, couldn't care less where he goes. You disgrace our jersey, you're as sure as hell not going to wear it again.
If he does, he will make a joke out of the manager and out of the club.
