Any news on Micah Richards' return?

4 months, ouch. Those who were whingeing about signing Maicon should shut up now

Why? has he suddenly got over his injuries, lost a couple of years and rediscovered a yard of pace?

This is a very big blow - gutted for Micah. We were lucky last season that we went the vast majority of the season with no major injury problems. Looks like it's going to be tougher this season. I've faith in Zaba and if push comes to shove Kolo can play at RB in the lets say less taxing league games.

Maicon has an achilles injury which are generally pretty nasty and can take forever to recover from.

That is really bad news, and these sort of injuries just make you more prone to future knee injuries.

True. There is always the chance the meniscus doesn't heal properly and and it could be torn again. Thats what happened to me. Strangely the recovery time is shorter if they just remove it, but its not ideal long term.
Hopefully it will be a successful recovery.

As for pace, Maicon seemed to do okay in the Real Madrid match.

means nothing until he is match fit
Very true. I don't contest that at all.

I do think it's fortunate we have depth at our fullbacks.

Definitely ... not many teams can have Micah/Maicon out and still have Zaba and Kolo as back ups there. Plus at a push I reckon Milner could play right back too.
