I'm still positive.

Defence is a lot tighter (yes we shipped 3 tonight but were down to 10 men and Bridge was probably to blame for the first) than it has been for a long time.

It's not pretty, we've had a bad time with injuries, we missed one of our most important players. I'm still confident it will come good, we just have to accept that Mancini's philosphy, like most of the greats have done before him, is to build from the back. It's the typical Italian way.

We're just missing a creative, attacking midfielder to link the defence to attack. Sort that out and we're laughing.

It's only two months in so we've got to give the man some breathing space. He's here til the end of the season, so let's get behind him. Come the summer, he'll address the creative deficiencies or we'll get someone new.

Just go with the flow for now and trust in what they are doing. A bit of patience, trust and support will stand us all in good stead.

I really can't stand the thought of watching this type of football for the rest of the season. We're never gonna get 4th place playing like this - we've gone from scoring for fun to no fun at all.

I think it makes it worse as well that the rags march on despite their financial problems and are ripping the piss - quite rightly - out of us because of what Garry Cook spouted out about us in that New York bar. His timing with his bragging couldn't have been worse really.

Yes, me. Can't believe all the negativity I am reading. So we lost to Stoke...the same team that put Arsenal out. The same team that are unbeaten in 2010. We went down to 10 men (unfairly I think) but I honestly don't think that we played badly. How many teams have you seen play great football aginst Stoke. They are an extremely tough team to play. As for everyone calling for Mancini's head, do you honestly think that yet another new manager is the best option. FFS he has only been here 5 minutes. He inherited the squad and maybe, just maybe, they are not the right players to play the style/formation of football that he wants to bring in. I have been a blue for over 40 years and have seen the good and unfortunately a lot of bad. Sure we have millions at our disposal but throwing a team of superstars together does not guarantee instant success. We ARE in 5th, we do HAVE some great players and we DO have a manager with a record of success. Some of you have very very short memories and have quickly forgotten where we were in the not too distant past. FFS give it time instead of expecting world domination overnight!!

So what you saying is he should buy (although he had the chance in Jan) players to suit his style/formation, but that does not guarantee success?

And for everyone that is saying "its just one game against a difficult team to play, and dont expect over night success".
It has been the last few games not just last nights and nobody is expecting us to go out and win every game by a high score line we want to finish in the top 4 which looks less likely every game we play at the moment.

I myself am shitting myself about the thought of playing Chelsea. I think this will be the turning point. If we play well and come out with a good result we will still be favourites to take that 4th possition. But if we play like we did against Liverpool then the teams surroundeing us will be rubbing their hands together.

I have been patient for 28 years and watching us slowly slip away from what was both a promissing possition, for silverware & a European spot is pissing me right off.

im not arsed about the cups tbh, not pissed off at all. dont get me wrong i wouldnt mind winning a pot or 2 but in the grand scale of things id rather get 4th without any cups. i was a lot more pissed off drawing at home to fulham, burnley and hull...oh wait who was manager then??
