Any scam calls

Get them all the time here....... mostly recorded messages until you choose an option to speak to an advisor.
Best one was telling.me that the manufacturers warranty on my vehicle was about to end...... if I was bored / had time I would press 1 for an advisor.
Always enjoyed letting them waffle shit about my warranty about to run out and then let them know I have (had at the time) a 28 year old Jeep and the warranty expired fucking years ago now fuck off and delete my number!
And they never did..... kept calling me back twice / 3 times a week!

Get them all the time.

I’ve also even been sent one in the post recently, saying someone who has a different name to me owes them money and to call the number immediately to pay up.
When I say I get them all the time, I never answer the phone to them, I just wait until it stops ringing and Google the number to see others on sites like ‘whocalledme’ saying it’s a scam.

Also be careful if you’re someone who does answer these calls, because I’m sure I remember something on tele or that I read somewhere that if they can just get you to say the word “yes” (doesn’t matter in what context) then that’s all they need to scam you as they say you’ve agreed to something and can edit the audio of the call to fit that “yes” into something you haven’t said yes to.

Might be bollocks that but I’m sure I’ve seen/heard it somewhere. Even if it is bollocks, it’s the reason I never answer.

Not a phone call but got an email from Ryanair about our Madrid flights absolutely everything screamed scam wanted us to prove our ID via facial recognition using our passports had to pay cash and a click on this link .
Phoned them up they confirmed it was them that sent it.
Would of put everything I own on it being a scam

I hope you didn't automatically ring any number on the email and did it through RA's web site.

Receive at least 12 a day usually from the same 2 or 3 stalwarts and a few scam emails.

Australia is a huge market for scammers especially those based in India and Africa and given the technology they have and where they are based its nigh impossible to bring them to account.
Do they not sell BT Call Blocker phones down under (or equivalent)???

I’m not sure on just the ‘yes’, but with the power and sophistication of AI and software these days, you could probably train a system with about 1-2hrs worth of a persons recorded conversation, to say almost anything you desired in real-time as per typing.
Ie you can easily impersonate someone, having got hold of enough of their voice

Got one yesterday l think. I bought my ticket for home CL match against Atletico and got a confirmation e mail which told me to press a button on the e mail. I was immediately informed there was a problem down loading to Google Pay and listed a number of possibilities, none of which seem to fit so l had to ring the club. Made two attempts one 28 in queue one 29. Last time l had similar places it took an hour on both.
So nice little earners for the phone companies.
Do they share any of it with the club who so kindly cause the opportunities for the company to make such money for nothing?
Why can't they allow e mail to deal with some problems? It seemed to be a frequent problem that could be dealt by standard replies.
My humour was not helped by spending 45 mins in between waiting for my GPs number not to be engaged but that didn't cost me money.
