Any scam calls

Do they not sell BT Call Blocker phones down under (or equivalent)???
The skimming techniques they have can keep random dialling until they reach a connection.

Call blockers especially for landline is fairly ineffective , you have to block them on a number by number basis but VOIP is random from a random generated number in essence.

the old story you play your favourite tune to make it worth your while.

For me its Tubular Bells today , what a genius Mike Oldfield was at 18 better than any scammer will ever be.

Almost 50 years to the day he started composing the music.

Its amazing how nasty some of them get when you scam the scammer at least in terms of time so long as you don't have better things to do.

I lead a sad life (LOL).
I let one guy blather on for a while about some crap or other, then ordered Eggs Benedict and a Latte.

I tell them after the initial spiel that their calls are now being traced by police and they need to stay on the line!
They usually swear and shout!

I had one a while ago who was telling me that my broadband wasn't up to scratch and I had to click on Run and type something in. When I asked him if we could just skip to the part where I give him my bank details, he hung up. No bloody sense of humour, some people!

The first time l got a very professional looking document fro Royal Mail l rang the delivery office who confirmed it was a common scam.
So why don't they put leaflets through doors to warn people? Many people would fall for this scam.
They're always warning people about various scams, it will never stop people falling for them because they didn't stop for 10 seconds and think about it.

People still fall for the 'Nigerian Prince trying to get his millions out of the country' for Christ's sake.

Ditched my land line a couple of years ago. Recently found out that my mobile provider offers a service where anyone that calls you gets a message telling them to enter a 3 or 4 digit number to complete the call. Any automated calls won't be able to do that.
I have had one unwanted call since I added it a couple of months ago.
You can also add 25 numbers to your account that don't have to go through that extra step.
Some BT (at least) landline phones have similar.

Posties always leave a note on red paper if they couldn't deliver a package. Look for one of those first.

Ha, just checking the works emails and got one from the W.H.O who want to deposit $750,000 in my account as I've been "Chosen".

Lucky old me.
