Anyone else a bit fed up of football?

im struggling to care about football at the minute - especially games not involving city. I used to watch loads of games, from championship to Spanish football.

even with city games, I’m just not as bothered now. I don’t care if we lose or win. Anyone else feeling the same?

with everything going on it might be something to do with that

The Aguero moment for me was like the climax of a film, the happy ending where all the years of hurt were rewarded. I can’t ever see that happening again - not with the introduction of VAR. Now the ref can award a penalty after the final whistle- thats not in the spirit of the game. Offfside decisions have become a joke and so have handballs. A lot of us were all for the introduction of VAR but none of us envisaged this. Careful what you wish for.

I've got a terrible admission to make. For the first time in since forever, I haven't watched a single City PL match fully since the beginning of the season. Only highlights. I haven't got a telly, and haven't ever owned one, so I've always had to go out and find a bar or pub (when I wasn't actually at the Etihad), but it's been no problem motivating myself. The combination of VAR and fanless games has taken a lot of the point out of it. Along with the absence of a summer break that makes you really hungry for that first game in August. When we win, I'm pleased. When we lose, I'm displeased. As opposed to being, respectively, over the moon, and devastated.
I hope it comes back. But I'm not sure.

As long as you get hobbies, interests to replace City you will be fine. Don't fester though. Especially with another lockup on the way.

I sometimes wonder if the equaliser would have been ruled out with VAR, Aguero would then never have happened and who knows where we’d have been? I‘m surprised that sky haven’t had it retrospectively looked at and awarded the league to the rags, although I suppose there’s still time.....

It could have been a penalty for the foul on Aguero. Either that or they rewind the play to five minutes earlier to find some infringement. Who knows? But imagine that moment again today and the tension waiting for confirmation. I’m just grateful we had that moment in our history that no club will have again.”You’ll never see anything like it again...” very true words.

I sometimes wish I could just leave City, like a marriage end it. It's just not that easy though if you've been following them for 40 plus years. I always feel I could've done so much more with my time and not be so worked up every Saturday or tues/weds etc for 90 mins of football. This no fans bollox has killed a lot of my enthusiasm though, it's just not real football.

No fans, VAR and paying homage to a Marxist organisation has definitely impacted on my enthusiasm for the game. Normally I would never miss a game on TV when City were playing, this season I haven’t watched one game and can honestly say I haven’t missed it. I do sometimes keep an eye on the score.
Sad it’s come to this after watching the blues for over 60 years.

I haven't read the whole thread but all I will say is this. If city never win another game I will die a happy man because i've witnessed football I never in my wildest dreams thought i'd ever see at city.
The first prem title was enough for me, I was elated.
Yes, football has changed, not often for the best, but if we went back to being shite, it wouldn't bother me in the slightest.
