ye because coming 5th and getting to the fa cup final = shit

Lucky shit, then. They've always been jammy bastards. As for the FA Cup, it's five games to get to the final and plenty of shite teams have made it all the way to Wembley.

I expect 3rd or 4th with possible FA Cup win. No European involvement is a plus over our rivals for these spots.

Sod Barry playing in the middle. He is absolutley the perfect left side key between Bridge and Rob which is where effectively he will play.

Given we'll have a decent forward line (Tevez / Eto etc) - this puts us way beyond Villa/Everton/Spuds and I think beyond Arsenal too.

My one worry is we will still be a bit thin if Barry / Superman suffer injuries. There's no way Elano is a top 4 player (and looks like the whinger is off anyway) - but I think we'll just have to cross everything and hope they can turn out for 30 plus games each.

A lot will depend on luck - if we can turn out our best team against other top 5.

I'm expecting nothing more than 7th and maybe a good cup run. We need to have a better defence next season we can't keep relying on Shay to save our arses all the time. First on the agenda would be a proper right back like Johnson and a decent footballing centre back like that Agger fella. A top goalscorer is also required although I think our midfield is looking alright. The top 4 will remain the top 4 with the usual suspects Villa, Everton, Spurs and hopefully us fighting for the Europa league. Patience is needed, we won't be top 4 challengers for 5 years.

Your goal next season should be to settle the squad , achieve a top 6 or 7 finish , and reassess if needed .
You can only change the course of the top 5 when you play against them . That's 28 games where it is out of your hands what they do .

They won't stop winning their other matches just because City have built a squad , and you won't start winning those 28 matches yourselves untill Hughes has had a chance to see them play together .

2010-2011 season should see a good year for City if things go to plan . Everything else is a bonus , so give Hughes time and don't heap pressure on him by wanting things too soon .

Things didn't happen over night with any of the top 5 either .

With the additions of Gareth Barry and if we get Samuel Eto'o and Carlos Tevez then with the form of Stevie Ireland and Robinho being happier with the quality additions I would expect us to not only get 5th but push for 4th. We're on the up!!
