thanks for the pics. planning to catch a few games there this season.
Shame that kit isn't our away kit, it looks good.

Basically City have replaced the reserve team with the "Elite Development Squad", which is an U21 squad for players making the step up from Platt Lane - the "elite" young players. This has obvious benefits when it comes to developing the youngsters, as it's an environment solely dedicated to them, as opposed to a awkward extension to the first-team with players not good enough/not fit enough for it. It is a slightly hyperbolic name, granted, but the aim is sound.
Cue journalists:
Ian Ladyman of the Mail: "#mcfc really have renamed their reserves the 'Elite Squad'. Oh no...oh no....just so wrong."
Daniel Taylor of the Guardian: "Bemused that #MCFC have changed name of their reserve team to "Elite Squad" http://bit.ly/cfxv7m doesn't "elite" mean the best?" ... "I'd be bemused if it was United, Liverpool, City or whoever, what's wrong with the old-fashioned 'reserves'?"
Mark Ogden of the Telegraph: "Because it might resemble a first-team when it plays" ... "Also softens the blow when a first-team outcast is told he is playing for the 'elite squad.' It's all semantics"
Immaculate Pasta said:I know what it's all about but the club don't help themselve when they keep leaving the word "development" out of the name as the Elite squad does sound stupid. The Elite DEVELOPMENT squad sounds better but until they use that word on the official site it will continue to get taken the piss out of.

http://www.mcfcreservesandacademy.co.uk here, Mohammed Abu is from Ghana, was on trial at City at the end of the season and has defo signed for City, I asked Steve Eyre about him and he gave us the ok to mention him as all parts of the signing had been completed
Certainly ran the midfield and was our MOM but finding any other info on him is proofing difficult
Incidentally there was another potential signing in the crowd from the Ivory Coast, who is about to sign a three year deal, just waiting on his work permit, so wont mention his name yet

There's one below and the rest can be seen on the link to my facebook group pictures below.... if anyone's interested.
