Anyone know the legalities re Parking Fines

I have had 2 over the last couple of months one for a works van and one for the wife's car, needless to say have ignored all correspondence etc and will continue to do so

The law has changed with regards to parking charge invoices and companies do have the right to take you to court, the problem for the parking companies is the invoice charges they ask for, now my wife overstayed on a car park for 15minutes where she was entitled to 1.5 hours free, the parking company wants £70 for that 15minute overstay and there is the problem, if it went to court a judge would not agree to the charges levied as you get an hour and a half free, fucking free, but they want £70 for 15 minutes, no judge in his or her right mind would see this as fair, would award compensation based on this, meaning the parking company would be lucky to get a tenner,

Now put your self in the shoes of the parking companies, could you be arsed pursuing people through the courts if you knew all that's waiting for you is a minimal amount, no you wouldn't and neither will they, they just hope to catch a few saps out who crumble and pay the initial invoice
My advice for what it's worth is Ignore....ignore...ignore....and ignore again

That's good news. My fine was for a 'permit holders only' car park. I was probbably in there less than 2 mins and they want £90 the fucking cowboys.

Help!
Parking fine of 50 quid for not parking in a marked bay.
I wasn't causing an obstruction or parked like a twat.
The Car park was full and my ticket was valid.
Ta.

You can still appeal though doots and others may say to fuck em off as well, but ive helped a few family and friends out with "private parking offences" but IMO you stand little chance with council ones, plus the way its wrote you wasn't in the parking bay so little chance at appeal

Was hoping for a loophole I.e. it didn't clearly state to park in marked bays only.

If there wasn't a clear sign stating that, then appeal. If you do appeal make sure it is within the 14 days of the penalty notice and state about the lack of signage, that you had a valid ticket, you wasn't parked on any yellow lines or prohibited hatching and in your opinion you wasn't causing an obstruction to anyone. State that you wasn't aware of any offence being committed by yourself and that you will be more careful in future.

You have nothing to lose by appealing apart from your own time, some paper and the cost of a postage stamp. You might just appeal to their better nature and get off with it. If they turn you down at least you tried.

I know for certain that some traffic wardens issue tickets that they know of to be unenforceable but still do knowing many won't bother appealing. Good luck.

Wondering where I stand legally here...

Car Park at Tesco (Bury) maximum stay is 3hrs now.
Received a letter today with a picture of my car entering the car park at 9:30am, and leaving at 3:30pm

£50 now or £85 if I leave it.

Seems crap how they've introduced this as on this day I paid for my car to be valeted on this car park, went shopping in the Tesco, I probably spent about £50 anyway.... they won't be getting my business ever again.

It's not a council ticket so you can ignore it effectively.
