Anyone met a famous celebrity and worth a post?

Jack Dyson about 1994, came into where I worked with his England blazer on, he was gobsmacked that both myself and the other blue in the office knew who he was, a real gentleman.

We would have loved to do lunch with him but he was off to another appointment.

Of your 38,881 posts, I would estimate that 47% mention the Eggheads.
Despite that, I think your life is more interesting that mine!
Can someone please help me start my own thread as I am not sure how to do it . It's going to be along the line of why does every thread bring up egg heads. Surely I can't be the only one finding this subject boring and monotonous. I once won a game of bingo but I don't really want to talk about it every day .

Tony Wilson, in mid 70s, when he was a newsreader, before he became a mid-life crisis druggie. I worked near the Granada studios at the time, and we used to chat on the walk to Piccadilly Station after work quite often.
He was a really nice bloke.

Had quite a few 'one off' meetings with famous' people over the years. Some nice, some not so, some just plain and simple dickheads.

Nicest..? Linda Evans (Sue Ellen off Dallas), shopping in Camden Market in 1980s, ended up sharing some of the Singapore noodles I'd just bought, much to the concern of her 'minders'.

Funniest...? Pete Doherty, directing traffic on Tottenham Court Road. A good lad.

Remember when there was that plot by gangsters to kidnap David Beckam's wife and kids? Well, it was around that time, and I was picking something up from Waterstones, on St Annes square. I'd left my motorbike on a pavement outside what was a derelict office block, but I knew a traffic warden would clock it and give me a ticket, so I thought I'd give it legs and risk it.

So I was running down that street where all the posh jewelers are, and I still had my helmet on, I noticed this nice bentley parked outside and all of a sudden David Beckham stepped out into my path, and he saw me running towards him and literally shit his pants and immediately got back into his car.

It wasn't until a few months later that the story about the kidnap plot was made public, but I realised straight away why he was so terrified.
