It's easy to say that now, but Eto'o was hardly an established world class player when they signed him (in fact, he was famous for failing to make it in Madrid). And while they pulled off a coup getting Ronaldinho and probably Deco, the rest of their signings were just talented players from smaller leagues that would obviously want to step up, no different to the likes of Fernandinho.

I'm not hurting at all, I'm pretty fucking happy with the business we've done, we've got two players in that were sorely needed and let go of people that had to be let go of or be in the position of getting fuck all for them next year. I'm pretty fucking happy that the club haven't just said "Screw it" and handed over a fortune for Cavani, likewise with Isco because that's not how you run a business. Speculate to accumulate is logical, spending just because you can, is not.

Pretty good summer so far imo. Fernandinho will be one of our best buys since the takeover and Navas finally gives us some pace and width. Gutted about Tevez but if we get the other deadwood out like Kolarov, Maicon, Garcia etc and bring in one or two more quality acquisitions I would definitely fancy our chances in the title race.
