are we asset stripping?

We're certainly losing depth of our squad, last seasons replacement of DeJong (Garcia) and Johnson (Sinclair) were much poorer players. So far we've sold two strikers for a older players Fenandinho (28)/Navas (27).
Considering Tevez is only a year older (29) and Balo was very early 20's it doesn't look like good dealings to me.

Looks like FFP is having the effect UEFA desired.
Bloody hell there are some depressing posters on here at the moment I am confident that the team is being shaped to meet the needs of the future

No way are we asset stripping - all our recent sales make absolute sense. On the buying side - I think we have become over cautious and too prudent on occasions. We have set parameters around big signings which have meant we have lost out - simply because other clubs are prepared to pay more. Our stance on Hazard, RVP and maybe Isco - in effect failed because whilst out approach was sensible - it was ineffective because other clubs were prepared to pay whatever was being asked / demanded and we didn't secure the player.

I think our days of paying stupid money are over - no bad thing. Our owner has been incredible and we are certainly in the 'next phase' of the project.

I feel uneasy tbh.

Bob, I've been uneasy for months but I and a few others on here got shouted down, flamed, outed as a Rag (by a Mod no less!) and abused by 'The Cabal' on here. All rational, reasoned, objective discussion has been suppressed.
Worrying times.
Perhaps you worry to much?
I would if Moyes had come in.

Unbelievable this place. We've bought two class players who will offer significantly more than Johnson and De Jong and the idiotic Sun readers are out to knock them before they've even kicked a ball. Is it any wonder the press write about us the way they do when so called City fans feed them this way.

totally agree mate. the 2 players we have already signed are what we`ve been screaming out for last season! unless we spend £500m every window then our newbie fans aren't interested.

I think Brendan is right Rob, I posted last week that platini is getting his wish holding us back. We could piss the money for cavani and co but if we do we'd dominate the rags and that won't do.
Hence me fear when we sell the top top players in our squad. They won't let us replace them.

If we buy Cavani for £45m, I guess you'll retract that? Also, nobody else seems arsed about FFP, and it is meant to apply to all clubs, not just the select few. Platini has no interest in United as much as he has no interest in us, Chelsea, Madrid or whoever else. Your paranoia will never quell, will it?!
