Country was in a much worse state in the seventies. Witness the three day week.Let's be honest apart from city what is there anything to be happy about?
A country that's falling apart, no leadership and strikes all over the place.
I'm 47 and I've never felt as low as I do now.
Most of Off Topic seems to be doom and gloom. Posters seem to revel in being miserable. Why ?
I am in Noth Wales on the coast, a young woman took over a failing beachfront cafe. She did it up and now one part is a cafe the other for exercise classes. She employs at least 10 people. The beer she sells is brewed locally employing ?
A Pizza van, complete with wood fired oven comes twice a week. It employs 6 people. (It goes elsewhere on other days)
The village pub was closed, the locals re opened it, it brings work to 10 people at least. Again the beer is brewed locally including 4 barrels from a bloke 2 doors away who has set up his own micro brewery. As a community project they are now growing their own hops to use in his beer and he wants to expand.
Everything about this place is vibrant with a will to succeed but at the same time be friendly, local and helpful to others.
No one here seems to moan about how shit life is, how its unfair, nobody understands etc etc.
So, can everybody stop being so miserable, please.
Admit it you thinned it;-)Reminds me of a couple of things that happened on the course.
I hit this tee shot and it ended up on a public footpath, but still in play.
So I walk up to it, but there's several people on the path, dogs, hikers, rambling types, they've seen it all before so they stop to let me play. Trouble was, even though I'm on the path, I'm nearest the green, so last to play in our 4 ball.
By the time my 3 mates have had their shots, quite a crowd have gathered, maybe 20 people, out for a morning stroll, now all stopped out of politeness, waiting for me to hit my shot.
I must admit I felt uncomfortable to say the least. Anyway I pulled what I thought was the right club, a 4 iron, and just fucking lashed at it, just wanting to get away from the gallery ASAP. Anywhere up the fairway would do.
Well fuck me I've hit possibly the best shot of my life, its in the air for ages, I'm probably 200 out, uphill to a plateau green, it's bounced once and finished 6 inches from the cup. The crowd actually gasped, then I got a fucking round of applause lol.
My mates were stood on the fairway watching all this unfold.
I don't remember, and I still dispute this, but they reckon I actually doffed my cap to the crowd as I sauntered off, as if I hit that shot all the time. What a **** lol. Tap in birdie though.
Mates wheel came off his trolly, and sped off downhill towards o.b.
I'm stood nearest to where it leaves the fairway, he's stood 30 yards away. He shouts, can you see where it is? I say yeah, it's just down there mate. I'm pissing myself laughing, it's a hundred foot drop down to the beach...
Happy days
Steal it you mean, they put it in landfill, well done.Never pay for a Tesco bag! I just take one of the hook at the side of the till when packing my stuff. Nobody ever notices or says anything. Tesco are making an absolute fortune on those bags.

That's more like it.Will all be up to their eyes in debt and bankrupt by Spring.
You're happier now you don't have to work?I think there is a culture in this country about not being happy unless you've got something to whinge about.
I found I was falling into this trap while I was still working, but I've got a much more positive outlook on life since I retired.
At the football, there's a right old moaner behind me. Even when we were winning on Wednesday evening, he still found a couple of players to slag off. Why can't people just enjoy what's going on around them?
I'm always happy.@PPT Bang on. I was sat in the village pub last night talking to them about growing their own hops, to put in their micro brewery to sell in their local pub.
They were far happier than posters on here !
