Are we going to win the League ?

We had to depend on other teams to help our cause last season and if we are to stand any chance this season then its going to be more of the same.

But if Mancini lets Lescott go and carries on tinkering with the formations and the team it might not matter anyway because it would have been thrown to them to easily.

We need to show real form and start breaking teams down more quickly and start hitting the back of the net early on instead of going behind and having to fight back.

The board need to get the targets Mancini wants but think his head is going to roll real soon if performances don't improve.By that i'am not just talking about results but the style of play.

I have to say if we lose two more games then we won't catch em.

No we won't unless Mancini starts his head games now saying 'is impossible to catch un***d'.

Go on Bobby, start stirring it, there's plenty of points to pick up over the festive period ;-)

After Arsenal at home I thought we wouldn't this season tbh. Retaining is not easy.

But, there's a long way to go, and I didn't think we'd win it last season either, so what do I know!

I suspect not .....

the rags usually reclaim the Premiership title the season after they've lost it (they have on all but one occasion) , and things seem to be conspiring against us this time around ..... injuries , suspensions , players out of form etc .... and now the Toures are likely to depart for Africa too , at a vital time , just as they had last season.

Vidic will also return for our rivals at the weekend ... and that can only strengthen their own chances.

We are failing to match last seasons goal scoring ratio , and so far we haven't really beaten anyone of note .... Arsenal , Liverpool , United , Chelsea have all taken points of us.

Of course i hope that City immediately bounce back and win at Newcastle , even though i suspect it won't close the six point gap , but i just get the feeling that we are not showing the same desire to come out on top of the pile ..... at least not yet anyroad !

I think we will.

But even if we don't, in realistic terms, our worst case scenario is that we finish second in the league and do not win the FA Cup. We have of course already won the community shield.

Would that be a disaster?

Well last year, the scum won the community shield, then got knocked out of the champions league at the group stages, got knocked out of both domestic cups and finished second in the league to their bitterest rivals. Sound familiar?

The worst we are realistically likely to do is achieve exactly what the scum achieved last year. It isn't perfect but it is not exactly relegation form.

Would that scenario be enough for the Sheikh to trust Mancini with yet another transfer kitty in next summers window ??

And would that scenario be enough for the influential Begiristain and Soriano to back Mancinis case , in the event of them being consulted , when the Sheikh and Khladoon review the managers position ??

Hard to call and hinders on many things. If RVP gets injured then that team of theirs is halved, relatively speaking, and so we would be in a much more favourable position. Of course that could also be said for any of our key players too. It will 100% be between us two and 100% go all the way to the last few games I think, but right now it's hard to call it as they are grinding out results like they always do, and we are yet to get out of bed it seems. Mancini said this morning we need to win 5 or 6 games on the trot, and if we did that over the festive period and into Feb, we will enter the last few months of the season in a much better position but it will be hard as like I say, we just aren't at anything like full pelt yet.
