Who isn't ?

Have you not heard of Fergie tyne ?

I'm 110% confident we will at least be EVEN with them come spring
Why ?

Simply because they look, they play, and have the luck of an oversteamed team.
Reality will catch with them at a time, giving us the opening to close the gap between us.

And, much more important to my eyes, we are a country mile from having clutched
the second gear, imho.We are still in the starting blocks.

Our team will obviously improve over year its team-play, pace and finishes.
I'm sure we will reach our full potential somewhere arround the last third of the 22 remaining fixtures ( 23/02 Chelsea at home for example ).
That will be the "money time" of the championship, just like last season.

No. Utd have a better balanced team and have players that can come in when they have injuries and do a "job" to get the right result. They have a forward line that are scoring for fun whereas were misfiring a bit (we never shoot!!). RVP was the missing link for them last season. They have two more home games than us possibly 4-6 more points in the bag and they seem to know how to beat the top six teams. On the other hand, Bobby cant quite get to grips with his best team, (Balo for Tevez in the most important game of the season, Shocking!!!) Plus were going to miss Yaya for ACON, yes he's been off form but still very influential in this team. My fear is that when we start playing well like we did first 3 months of last season the gap will be too big to pull back.

The thing about 'gaps' is that , assuming you're picking up points , the other side has to drop them ......... and the wider the gap the more they have to drop them !

So if we come unstuck this weekend and they don't , then we will looking at the equivalent of three wins to catch them up already ...... or 'two wins' as it currently stands

now the rags have already lost three games , so assuming that they're gonna finsh in the top two , as they surely will , how many more games are they realistically likely to lose ???

And let's not forget that we have to visit their place yet too !

When they are chasing a team they do everything they can to win games , and keep the gap 'manageable' , or even overcome it ..... and we must do the same , keep the pressure full on , right to the very end!

before a game had kicked off this season a City fan in the pub was asked who will win the league, he said united as we won it on goal difference last year and they have improved and we have gone backwards, makes football sound simple eh

It's hard to disagree, many said it at the time - instead of kicking on we at the very most stood still (some say gone backwards) in our disastrous summer transfer window. Our scouts seem to have completely failed us with the exception of Nastasic and while Maicon has his qualities, he is a bit of a vanity/job for the mates buy. Financial Fair Play is a concern but consider the money we have lost by bombing out of the Champions League again, the difference between what we have made and what we could have made by going to the semis or final may have covered the transfers we had in mind and then some more.

The thing is NO title winning side in the last ten years (probably even longer) has lost more than SIX games , and most have lost less ........

on that assumption you would only expect the rags to lose three more fixtures , at the MOST , if they're to become champions ..... they will see their 'bad patch' as already having occured with those losses ...... that is why we cannot allow this gap to widen too much .
