Are You Doing Anything To Protest About The Latest Season Ticket Price Increase?

Not it's not. It's a loss of revenue to the club and money that I would have spent on tickets will stay in my pocket. Perhaps when they look at the swathes of empty seats at League Cup & CL games they might think "Maybe it wasn't the best idea". The Arsenal board certainly got the message about Wenger when they saw their fans' staying away in their droves.

I know our board were quite shocked at the reaction to last year's increase yet they did it again. There's no financial imperative for it. They could have shown us a gesture of goodwill & frozen prices, like every other big club, bar Spurs, has done. And I think Spurs' decision to set the prices at the level they have will backfire on them. People won't pay those prices if they aren't winning anything.

Surely the money they invest and the football we play warrants a bit of an increase
Can’t have it both ways
They put their money in and now looking for a bit more from fans

Can’t believe people are moaning about this

Yes, I meant next year.

Or 20 bottles of Proper Job.

I don't drink pints.

It's not the one off increase. Or the odd increase. It's the continual increase every season.

TBF we've done this to death in the other thread.

Perhaps the word 'protest' has irked some BMFM, especially after a season like this. Fair enough.

So, I will put it another way. I have decided to opt out of the Carabso and FA Cup schemes.

I love going to watch City, and I assume you do too? Surely denying yourself the opportunity to watch games, punishes yourself, not the club?

We can all take it or leave it, I will be one of those 45,000 or so who is taking it, can’t wait for tomorrow and also next season, bring it on!

Are you going to say that to every City fan who has decided to drop the cup games, or picks games to go to?

I did all the cup home games last season. There were 1000's of empty seats. Why weren't they full?

I've not missed a CL match in years at home, but I bet some on here slagging me off have, because they can't be arsed going.

Everybody has a choice. I have decided to drop two cup competitions. I'm allowed to do that if I want to, and not feel guilty about doing it.

Why do the club need a bit more from the fans?

The bit more is £800k.

But giving Yaya a 1 season thank you contract probably cost the club £2.5mill?

That's £50k a Week. Guessing again, it was probably more than that, including win bonuses.

Come on mate, £20 extra once again off every City fan is going to do little or nothing to balance the books.

BTW. I love Yaya. :-)

I am wearing my Oliver Twist outfit tomorrow complete with begging bowl and I am going to invade the pitch just as Vinny lifts the trophy, to plead for money for my season ticket next season. That should show them!

Think it's a shame but 20quid isn't a lot. I've dropped my platinum membership. Wonder if they will spend the money on staff training for the people behind the bars. Lol

I think people should protest by running onto the pitch after full time tomorrow. On the pitch! On the pitch!

We don't charge less than every other club though, as I've said a number of times. Yes - there are some cheap tickets, maybe 2,500-3,000 but outside those we are comparable with United, Liverpool & Chelsea. In fact we have dearer standard ST's than all of those.

Our range outside the cheap tickets (for non-hospitality seats) is £530-£1370. For comparison:
Rags are £532-£950
Chelsea are £595-£1250
Liverpool are £685-£869

So can we stop spouting this "We're cheaper than everyone else" myth.

It is NOT a myth relative to the other big clubs.

City have c24,000 seats £635 or less based on Adult Gold.

United lowest cost adult ST is £532 but only for 2000 seats (+disabled). Everything else is higher than £635 for adults. And this is despite the 7 year price freeze. Remember also a United ST incorporates compulsory purchase for FA Cup and Champions League home matches. And good old Zebra finance if you want to pay by instalment.

The small City increase this time might seem pointless and unnecessary but the range of ST prices for all pockets is extremely fair within the context of football generally and certainly when compared to the other big clubs. IIRC you have said something similar in the past and your main gripe (rightly) has been matchday prices and not STs.

Here is a table of City ST prices/increases and an estimate of the number of seats available in each price band:

Over 14000 seats at an average cost per 19 games of c£30 or less.
Over 27000 seats at an average cost per 19 games of £34.47 or less.
