Are You Officially Priced Out Yet, Or Almost?

I think you'll find the fuckwit is the one who doesn't know the price of his Wembley ticket and is going off on one cos the Liverpool match is £1 more expensive than a ticket for Southampton two years ago.
9ct fw, tbh.

Mate-Not being funny but why the feck are you trying to piss people off???
I know loads of blues who are priced out.Totally irrelevant what they earn or what their individual circumstances are .
Surely you can empathise with fans who don't have a choice anymore?

One or two on here have given balanced reasons, SHB for still being able to manage to go or reasons why they are not able to go.
To call people who have a different opinion 'fuckwits' is out of order.
When it's over a match ticket price being £1 dearer than a comparable match 2 years ago, it really does make you wonder who the fuckwit really is.
IMHO.

Jesus wept, how hard is this to understand?

I disagree with the Southampton prices of two years ago as well if it was £56.

I don't agree that it should cost me more than £100 to take my two sons to a league match.

My Dad took me to every league match 20-25 years ago whilst doing a labouring job. My wages now should mean I can easily take my lads but I simply cannot justify spending more than a quarter of my weekly wage on a football match without travel, drinks, food or programme.

The club are taking the piss out of us just as much as United have with their automatic cup scheme but many of our fans are turning a blind eye because we're champions.

I swear I would rather us be like we were in the early '90's but take my lads every week than dominate English football while the three of us watch on SKY.

Just come back in and c.h.b who's son has been priced out still defending city match day prices .is their nothing city can do wrong in your eyes ? The tickets for the Southampton game were £40 something in the north stand this was normal to be £10 cheaper than any other stand that season

Is that the same chap who made the choice to go abroad on holiday rather than pay for his season ticket?
He's planning to get to a few matches this season too when not working.
Probably category 'B' or 'C' matches.
Do you reckon they will go to general sale?

Kev, i've never said footballs not expensive. I do sympathise with your dilemma with your lads but if that is the going rate these days for the type of football we are getting and the titles we are winning, then it's a case of having to pay it or don't and if you don't, there will be someone else sat in your seats.
That's the reality of it.
Sorry if it sounds harsh but that's what i believe to be true.

everything's expensive with kids these days - not just football matches - try taking them on a family holiday abroad - fookin' mortgage time. so this is not just city at fault.

I'm lucky because my kids are all grown up and I don't have to pay for them - but it was touch in the first five years at the new stadium paying for me and my daughter's season tickets plus a days worth of travel/beer/pop/food/programmes plus a few away games a season - not sure I could justify/afford it now seeing as she's now 21

Been away so not seen the other 40 odd pages but I do not blame City for the prices. I blame Sky and the so called FFP rules we have in europe and the premier league.

That is the reason that all clubs have spent more money over the years on players and it has simply gone mad. Players wages are huge, who pays the fans, always have.

The rules now mean clubs like ours have to charge more to keep up. Without these rules i believe City would do more for the fans in price terms.

I pay for my 2 kids and myself in the family stand, total cost a season for season tickets is just over £800. Well worth it but the kids are 15 and 17 so is different than taking under 10s who can get bored.

I predict it will get more expensive and youngsters are the real losers. Kids under 15 cannot buy tickets now without an adult either purchasing or going with one.

I used to travel in the 80s from Langley to Moss Side sometimes on my own and simply pay at the gate.

I completely agree that if I don't go, someone else will and City won't miss me in the slightest. I also agree that this is the way football has gone and we are doing what other clubs do. My point is, I'd like City to make a stand. The famous quote from Dortmund about the difference being about £3million per year sticks with me.

Then there's the loyalty points for sale. You simply have to shell out more to keep up now. If you and I both stated supporting City in the 80's on the same day, went to the same matches throughout our lives but had different jobs, the one on more pay is considered a more loyal City fan by the club than the other simply because you can pay more. This is not right and like everything in life, the more people accept it, the worse it will get.

Football fans in this country are useless when it comes to making a point. We are typical consumers whereas in places like France and Germany, they simply won't accept being treated like walking wallets the way we do in this country.

Responses like "that's the price of success" & "someone else eill takes your seat, harsh but reality" are probably true however, I don't understand what you're trying to achieve by being as narrow minded as that.

The nucleus of the debate is the affordability of a game and team we've all supported for pretty much as long as you can remember. To feel pressured into paying prices that you can't afford or don't feel comfortable with isn't right and for most proper fans it's not a simple case of the black & white choice of going or not.

Blokes are upset, they're upset at the prospect if not seeing their sons enjoy following city the way they did when they were their age. If you take home between £400 & £500 per week which I consider normal then your looking at around 40% of that weekly wage being spent for a bloke & his 2 sons to attend a match these days. I'm sorry but that isn't right.

There will be cheaper games to attend than the Liverpool one I'm sure but it's not the point, fans being exploited is the point. Most fans will pay a fair price and a premium for the bigger games but it's going too far.

It will be full for the Liverpool game I'm sure, that'll mean it's ok to charge what they're charging in the money men's eyes. When will it stop though? At this rate fans will be expected to pay £75 for a home game bang in the middle of school holidays. It's a fucking disgrace and can't be justified to a normal working bloke.

That's what I was trying to say when I said they were all fuckwits. ;)

The sad truth is that thousands of City fans who used to regurly attend games are already priced out. They are forced to watch games in pubs and clubs often broadcast on foreign channels. Many can t afford to drink and watch at home one Sky or stream the game on a PC.

Many would love to go to games but are already priced out and it is unlikely the club will ever lower prices enough to attract them back and that's a real shame IMO.

As for myself, I honestly don't know how many more seasons I will be able to afford a SC, but for now I can.
