"Such stark figures are not limited to Arsenal either, with a similar FOI request to Greater Manchester Police last season revealing it had recorded much lower attendances for Manchester United matches at Old Trafford than the club, the difference in one case being almost 25,000."

I was hoping that due to the amount of negativity surrounding the price of the Liverpool game & it still not selling out, we might have seen a £50 ticket for Chelsea. No such luck, from £57 again

My friends kid can't make the 1st two home games so we rang up City to see how much it would cost to upgrade the seat to an adult. They wanted £47 for the Liverpool game and £37 for Stoke... And that's discounting the price of the under 16's ticket!

This isn't a working class mans game anymore.

If that's a match ticket, as opposed to a seasoncard, how much was the kid's ticket? My Stoke ticket (on level 2) was £48.

It's not.

Football lies between the two codes of rugby now. With the more middle class Raa Raas at one end and the more working class Northern town league boys at the other.

Prices start at £75 for the Union World Cup next year. City have tickets from £48-57 for our first two home games. I went to the Wire-Leeds Challenge Cup semi final for £18 last week. And you can feel that difference in the type of crowds at these different sports too.

I could get a ticket for a German game and a flight there and back for cheaper than it would cost me for a game in England, even a home City game down the road.

I would say its match day tickets mate .as an example 3 seasons ago myself and 2 kids were paying £30 a match in the family stand that's what tempted us in and got the kids trained into going the matches.this time it would be £117 for us 3 against the dippers .we wouldn't have started going to games at these prices and my two would of been lost to city

Like i said, personally i wouldn't pay £57 to go and watch the Liverpool game if i didnt have a s/t

I'm in the CL scheme, but after last season where I paid £99 for the CL bundle I couldn't help but think id have rather just gone to the Bayern game and paid £45 and watched the other two games at home and saved myself about £50

Thats what im thinking of doing this year, come out the CL and just go to the game against the more attractive team in our group

Luckily for me i don't drink or eat at the ground its a case of 'get in and get out'

That's exactly the same for me mate. I have lost 100 loyalty points for pulling out of the CL scheme-Im really not that bothered about it.
I am going to go to the game at home against the Group 1 team and then watch the other 2 at home.
I have stayed in the domestic cup schemes.

On the ticket pricing issue it is definitely the individual pricing that is wrong.
my lad paid £195 for his season card which equates to £10.26 per home game-Amazing value.
I paid £600 for mine which equates to £31.57 per game-Again amazing value.
So why should an adult pay an extra £26 minimum (£55) to watch the same game just because they cannort afford or cannot commit to a season card. I appreciate there should maybe a slight premium but not to these levels.

Or simply cannot obtain a Season Card thus forced into paying extortionate prices for stand along games (£60 for Liverpool game on a Monday Evening)

A very fair point. I don't think there's many non-s/c holders who could possibly argue that S/C holders shouldn't be entitled to some sort of discount, as a thank you for committing to a full season and shelling out a not inconsiderable wedge in doing so. I certainly don't, and if I lived within striking distance of the ground, I'd buy a S/C too.But being asked to pay (in my case) an extra 39% (using your per match average) to see the same game (Stoke) is extortionate. I'm actually paying £48 for the Stoke game, but that's for a level 2 seat, so I used the cheaper tickets (£44, IIRC) in the above example. And of course, for the glamour games, the price differential increases markedly; £57 for the Liverpool game equates to 80% dearer than your per match figure. That's taking the piss

had to downgrade to gold membership because i live in sheffield now, every game is like an away game (in terms of cost) plus im a student. no cup schemes also, i feel like i've done the club a disservice :(

Depends I suppose on which stand Jim however my lads Season ticket equates to £10.26 per game.(£195 for the season in South Level 2)
I have just managed to shift his ticket to an adult (who is upgrading) for the Liverpool game and that will cost him I think £47.
He is giving the tenner to my lad as he has paid that already.

It is an expensive "hobby" now. Many cannot simply afford or jusitfy the cost. I hope I am never in that position however I do have a cap on what I will pay.Already considering level 3 South stand next season just to cut the cost.

Good post Kippaxman. I have a season card in ES Level 2 and I also have a season ticket for the Leeds Rhinos. An adult RL season ticket (standing with being able to drink on the terraces) is £200 but closer to a net £150 when you take into vouchers for the club shop and 1 free spare home ticket and 1 free away travel.

I am not short of cash now but used to walk from Stretford to Maine Road (some games) to afford to go in the Kippax.

I know we are competing at a much higher lever these days ( in the CL as well as the PL) but there will be long term damage to our fan base if fans are priced out.

The Club should already know that we don't have thousands of corporates queuing up to pay top dollar as shown by "forever blue" bombing. It is the long term fans who are hit by price hikes!
