Ive not been for about 3 seasons ,cant see me going again in the non distance future , i prefer to watch in the pubs or at home now a days ,years ago there wouldnt be many blues watching in the pubs as they would be at the games .not any more pubs are packed now even for home games how time shave changed
The ticket prices, cost of food, travel and lack of atmosphere, not to mention over officious stewarding will see this trend rise more and more.
Clued up pubs will see a market and do 'specials',so many pints and a pie,or some other form of pub grub all in to attract more people and retain loyalty. If you take the price of £57 for a Monday night game with iffy transport due to it being a bank holiday then a pub is a no brainer. If it is a nice day and evening people will go for a day out and get a speck in the pub for kick off.You could have a few drinks,a bite to eat and a taxi home and still have change out of £57 provided you don't live too far away.
Greed will kill the football bubble. The signs have been coming for a while and discontent is growing.Football, like a lot of things becomes a habit.Once that habit is broken and a new ritual takes it's place, like watching in the pub then people could be lost forever.
I have been going live for donkeys years but when i am on holiday and watch it live on tv i don't feel like i have missed a great deal,in fact i usually get a better view and have the benefit of close up's and action replays too.
Clubs ignore the first signs of a shift in fans attitude and behaviour at their peril.
