Are You Officially Priced Out Yet, Or Almost?

Remarkable how long the last nosebleed seats for Liverpool are taking to sell. Normally they could be gone in hours, but clearly these ticket prices are making non-ST holders think twice. I've no doubt they'll be gone by Monday but £57 tickets even for a big match like this in the expanded stadium are not going to sell out (maybe against United), so hopefully the slow sales mean a price drop in future for Category A games. Even at £45, this game would have been sold out long ago. Two seasons back we sold out against Norwich 5-6 weeks in advance when ticket prices were less obscene.

Do they still do them fans forums with some top bods from the club?

Got quite a few questions for them to dodge and not answer

You would think it would be good news that they haven't sold out for future ticket prices but the club will probably blame holiday season/bank holiday etc and like you say it will probably sell out over the weekend.

How many are left?

Monday night matches tend to take longer to shift tickets but Against Liverpool you would have expected it to sell out within a few days.

Also the Stoke tickets are not exactly flying off the shelves and that is a Saturday afternoon fixture.

The matches have clearly been priced too high.

The ticket prices, cost of food, travel and lack of atmosphere, not to mention over officious stewarding will see this trend rise more and more.

Clued up pubs will see a market and do 'specials',so many pints and a pie,or some other form of pub grub all in to attract more people and retain loyalty. If you take the price of £57 for a Monday night game with iffy transport due to it being a bank holiday then a pub is a no brainer. If it is a nice day and evening people will go for a day out and get a speck in the pub for kick off.You could have a few drinks,a bite to eat and a taxi home and still have change out of £57 provided you don't live too far away.

Greed will kill the football bubble. The signs have been coming for a while and discontent is growing.Football, like a lot of things becomes a habit.Once that habit is broken and a new ritual takes it's place, like watching in the pub then people could be lost forever.

I have been going live for donkeys years but when i am on holiday and watch it live on tv i don't feel like i have missed a great deal,in fact i usually get a better view and have the benefit of close up's and action replays too.

Clubs ignore the first signs of a shift in fans attitude and behaviour at their peril.

Quality post. A lot of people won't have missed a home game for years and not attending that first match is the breaking point. Once they do it, they'll realise that it isn't the end of the world that they've missed a match. They'll see that there's a good atmosphere in their local and as you say, they can get a meal, watch the match and finish the night blootered for less than they'll pay for a ticket.

More and more are taking this route and if the clubs leave it too long, won't be able to attract those fans back at all.

FFS. You only have one life and to prefer the pub to watching this City team live is so very sad. Living 250 miles away means I only do the home games, no sky sports or BT so watch away games in my local and in my view its shit compared with watching live. People up and down to the bar, going out for a smoke, trying to start a conversation, pushing past to get to the bogs.
I am saving up for next years SC £250 to date, this I will do while the ticker holds out 72 next time round. One day it will end for every one of us, so "win or lose up the Blues" and don't ever forget "never boo a blue".

I hope to go to every league game this season but my brother has stopped going and is happy listening to the game on the radio. He points to the lack of atmosphere at the Etihad and the cost of tickets. I have offered to buy tickets for him but he has refused them.

Me enjoyment of going to the games has increased through membership of Supporters Clubs and the banter that goes with it!
