Are You Officially Priced Out Yet, Or Almost?

"Cost of football" won the poll for most relevant discussion topic at City Voice and it's now being discussed on their official forums... with the majority negative to ticket prices.

Ive not been for about 3 seasons ,cant see me going again in the non distance future , i prefer to watch in the pubs or at home now a days ,years ago there wouldnt be many blues watching in the pubs as they would be at the games .not any more pubs are packed now even for home games how time shave changed

FFS. You only have one life and to prefer the pub to watching this City team live is so very sad. Living 250 miles away means I only do the home games, no sky sports or BT so watch away games in my local and in my view its shit compared with watching live. People up and down to the bar, going out for a smoke, trying to start a conversation, pushing past to get to the bogs.
I am saving up for next years SC £250 to date, this I will do while the ticker holds out 72 next time round. One day it will end for every one of us, so "win or lose up the Blues" and don't ever forget "never boo a blue".

Not showing much empathy there are you really? I'm 39 so could be considered the middle generation of City fans. I had a season ticket every year from 1987 till 2010. And I'm now pretty much priced out. With the cost of living in Manchester (I rent) plus other things paying 57 quid for a ticket is out of the question. I can't and won't do it. I'm on the waiting list and have paid (in installments) the 100 pound deposit but if I don't get offered one of the 299 season tickets then that's probably me and City done all together when it comes to me attending live Premiership games anyway.

east stand 110 paying over 600 and ive got one of my boys (and me) (i can no way afford both lads so they will have to take it turns )on the waiting list for the new south stand if i dont get the cheap tickets i wont be renewing.
ive had a season ticket for almost 30 years (with a ban in there aswell) and i never thought i would see us win ANYTHING....now we have ...so i almost feel like my object in life is complete ...i will just be gutted that my boys cant go week in week out like i have for 30 years

i would have been out before last season if the club had not done installments on direct debit, im just about getting through every month and their was no way i could have forked out £650 in one go as for the match day ticket cost at £57 i would probably do a couple of the big games at that cost but that would be it, cant blame people for sacking it off certain things in life do come before city, this might be my last season after 40 years but i said that at the end of last season

i said that aswell last year but im holding out for these cheap season cards next year......

Looking to take the family to a game this season so the four of us will have to wait for a cup game, I'm hoping the club will still be doing the cheaper cup tickets I think they were fifteen quid for adults last season and a fiver for kids. Not bad if it's going to be 45/50 quid all in for us. The league games are a no no I'm afraid.

I'm just about hanging in there with my s/c after 40 years! I feel for all the Blues out there that has had to call it a day Physically watching their beloved Blue shirted Hero's @ least we have become CHAMPIONS OF ENGLAND which is still sinking in!

Really is a depressing read and it does make you wonder what the end game will be!

I'm 47 this year and started going to City by myself at the age of 11. If I can remember correctly the admission to the Kippax was about 80p. My pocket money was £2 so the admission equated to 40% of that £2.

Based on today's prices of a junior being charged £29 to attend the Liverpool game would mean for that to be 40% of their pocket money then they would be getting £72.50.

Now I know prices go up but 80p to £29 is around 3600% inflation over 36 years which is the problem, and regardless of the good that the Sheikh Mansour has done, the greater part of these increases have happened in the last 4-5 years.

There has to be a tipping point and we must perilously close to it, having a dwindling customer base with absolutely no fresh input at the youth level due to criminal pricing.

The youth level issue is the biggest one long term.

£29 for a junior ticket is outrageous. Dad and 2 lads....£120 for one game?

Football will become an entertainment business for people with money who might not actually support anyone. It's bad enough now with the Tourists we already attract. God knows what it will be like in ten years.

Newcastle 16/17s get in for £5, Arsenal it's £64. The jump some clubs have from 15 to 16 is disgusting, it is not as though you can get a job down pit at 15 any more.
