Are You Officially Priced Out Yet, Or Almost?

im sure there was a Premiership fan survey in the last couple of years which showed our fans to be the poorest in terms of earnings in the league. With this in mind, you would hope the Club continue to help those who need it most, and not do what Utd did, replace us with out of towners with deeper pockets... just a thought................

They don't care. Despite what they say.

No of course they don't it is of no relevance who watches the game and whether you have attended for years are became a fan yesterday. The only change will be when the stadium stops selling out. This can be evidenced by the fact tickets for League/FA cup and Champs league tickets are priced cheaper.

But we are our own worst enemies in some ways. People were cock a hoop at the signing of Lampard and if its true we are covering his wages there is a couple of quid on the cost of each match ticket on that transfer alone. This despite the fact he will hardly ever play, stops the development of a kid coming through and has apparently dictated to us who he will play against.

Footballers rule the roost nowadays with the majority of the money leaving the game into their back pockets, City have definitely played a part in the escalation of wages.

If that was the case ticket prices would be 10x what they are now wages dwarf ticket income

Yes but that money has to be found somewhere and unfortunately all other revenue streams do not equal our overheads. That money has to be found somewhere and so it will be reflected in maximising ticket revenues. Sadly we may have the highest wage bell in sport but not the highest revenue streams to match.

Me and my dad used to go. My son was born and money became tight so not been for a couple of years (Live in Hazel Grove).
Couldnt afford £114+ for two tickets now. Nearly feel off my seat when I was looking at prices.

Arm chair fan for a few years methinks.

Our wage bill is about £200m and our projected revenue for this season is £323m, so what is costing £123m?

That doesn't appear to be costing £123m.

The extension works are expected to cost in the region of £50m and will be undertaken in two phases. The project will result in an increased capacity of 60,000 (up from the current 48,000), making it the second largest in the English Premier League, behind Old Trafford (capacity 75,811), home to local rivals Manchester United FC.

Note that £50m is the estimated cost for a full expansion to 60,000 and we're only expanding one side (+ some seats) right now so it could be costing in the region of £25m-£30m for this phase.

Maybe it's the electricity and gas bills... or maybe our club is now just another corporate juggernaut that just sees its fans customers as numbers and statistics.

not forgetting that amount will increased with other partnerships and increased tv money and also a smaller wage bill but fuck it lets bung up the ticket prices for people who already struggle

Yes. And I was wrong - £323m was the projected revenue for last season (still to be revealed), probably higher for the 14/15 season with the wage bill apparently dropping. People are desperate to defend the club and use FFP as an excuse, but the truth is they don't need to hike ticket prices at all. In fact, they could lower them and still make more money than ever before. I see City announced something like their 35th partnership in the last year today... every one bringing in more revenue.
