Look at Europe: the softest team with the most divers and cheats are Portugal! I remember the last world cup semi, France v Portugal and when Simao crossed a corner in to the box there were 2 Portuguese players similtaniously diving in the box to get a pengy! the ball was about 10 feet above their heads! also there were 2 Portuguese lads at the last school I taught at and they were the biggest whingers and moaners in the school, one would cry when things didn't go his way! I think it may be a cultural thing with Portuguese countries!
 
I know it sounds a little out there but consider the amount of Italians, Germans and other former Axis WW2 groups who fled to South America, maybe the different mindset of these groups has been distilled down into the Cowardly but amazingly flowing Brazilian style. The Argentinians play some amazing flowing football, That goal for example with about 24 passes and then a shot, but are more "tough" in their approach. Maybe Argentina had more of the fleeing fighters...

Also Brazilians haven't had to endure a total bastard like Peron. Fucking hard life for most in Argentina. Football is the ONLY escape.
