David James ?Shilton was nowhere near as good as people make him out to be. He saved a total of 3 pens of 54 faced in his entire career and one of those 3 was a friendly. Like our current keeper he had T Rex arms. Terrible keeping for Germanys goal in the semi in 1990 and never got near one pen! I was crying out to Robson to sub him before the shootout for David James who was big and imposing and had a decent pen record.
But he was taller than Maradona but allowed him to out jump him in his own box....appalling!!!
