Armed !?

Never thought about it as I've never experienced a house break-in. I did have a car stereo pinched one night, and all my Iron Maiden cassettes dumped in the garden the following night. Which was nice. Looking around the bedroom now the only weaponable thing I see is a cider flagon of copper, but it's the most valuable thing in the house so I'd be playing right into their hands.
 
Then some soil followed by animal carcass then more soil. If the dogs pick up the scent they’ll start digging and hopefully stop at the critter.

If you are going to attempt this make sure not to follow the process from TV or film. They deliberately leave out steps and details so any criminal attempting it is unsuccessful and doesn't evade law enforcement agencies.

Throw the missus at them and lock the bedroom door. Either they're getting filled in or the life insurance is paying out. Win, win.
 
Years ago a bloke who lived in a council flat got so fed up of people breaking down his front door so he 'wired up' the door. He got a stiff sentence for GBH at Manchester Crown Court.
I've got a very protective Staffie to give nasty shocks to uninvited visitors.
