Similar performance to previous seasons at this stage. We will pick up as we go along. Really hoping Palmer can continue to improve as I think he will be a great asset. His goal speaks for itself. We played in 2nd gear with less pre season time than Arsenal and they could only draw on goals with a very jammy deflection. The score means everything for them and absolutely nothing to City. That says it all really.

Nobody likes losing, not even in friendlies. But today there were loads of positives. Defence very good. Foden excellent. Kev bring fit. Great by Palmer. Kovatic settling in like a glove. Imagine that team with Kev, Foden and Gvardiol starting! Let arsenal have their celebration. It’s a big deal to them. It’s not to us. That’s how much better we are - and I don’t mean that arrogantly. I just think you should let teams celebrate especially when it’s the only thing they might win ;)
