Arsenal (A) - PL Post Match Thread

I’m just sick of the way we play away games ever since 3-3 vs Newcastle, he can try and justify it, but the simple fact is not only it being abysmal to watch, it’s not even effective is it? We won two games away from home against the top 10 in the league last season and one was just a pure arsenal bottle and one win in the cl away from home all last season. We just look an absolute shadow of the team we are when we go away from home and it makes even more irrational now we’ve got Haaland.

It will be the exact same performance against United in a few weeks and probably the exact same result there will be nothing in the game but united will win either by a ref decision like last season or a deflection like today.

if he doesn’t change this profoundly negative style away from home we will be lucky to get 2 wins again against this season’s eventual top 10.
Does it matter who we beat the record books dont say shit treble cos we only won away once in the champs league.

Sorry if this was discussed earlier, I've seen a couple of references on social media to a disabled woman being assaulted.
Anything in it?

Hopefully now Stones is back we can finally be a bit more settled in our shape and use players in their best positions.

I love Walker but I don't want to see him high and wide holding the width, he needs to be the third centre back.

Ederson
Walker Dias Gvardiol
Rodri Stones
Bernardo Alvarez Foden Doku
Haaland

Really want to see this.

I'm not too worried as we rarely start well, but very frustrated that this wasn't a vintage Arsenal side and quite honestly we just didn't really know what to do.

I thought Kovacic was VERY lucky and should've been sent off. The first one was borderline red for me and then the second was pretty stupid given it wasn't long after the first. I was very surprised Pep left him on to be honest.

I just had a feeling that we just weren't going to score. Simple as that really and I just hoped we could lock them out but there's nothing you can do about that goal, but it does show that if you shoot sometimes you get a chance. Haaland is a phenomenal footballer and when you give him service, he will score. However, at the moment he can't buy a goal and when he's not scoring there's not much else from him. Pep is going to have to figure this one out as although Haaland is heavily marked, no one else is picking out the kind of space that Gundogan would've done.

If Phillips doesn't get the hint that Pep doesn't rate him and he has no future at the club when an 18 year old right back plays in his position, he's no chance. There's no way he can play for England if he's not playing for us either.

Overall, a poor performance and another chance for Arsenal to get their tails up at our expense. Ultimately, when it comes down to the last couple of games in the season in May, we will be in contention for the title and they won't.

Strangely enough while I was watching us yesterday I kept thinking back to the games we had against them with likes of Merlin,Yaya,Fern, Aguero and Sane. We were so exciting to watch back then.

Absolutely nothing matters except the end result and that was winning the three major trophies on offer. Any Blue not happy with last season is either a fan from another club pretending to be a Blue, or a newbie plastic know nothing plank.

Good away performance, take the blue tints off.
Arsenal were there for the taking, we slumbered through trying to hold out for a draw and got punished.
Thought we started very well actually and a goal which we deserved could have ruined them.

They grew into the game but some dubious officiating.
Haaland deliberately taken out when bursting through and ready for a pass.
Dias being held for ages by Odegaard on a corner.
Lewis fouled yet no advantage played.

Kovacic got the yellow he deserved for me, not a red Haven't seen the second challenge as our stream was iffy.

And they win it with a shitty deflection.

I'm of the opinion that our winning streak against them had to end sometime so yesterday was not a bad time really.

2 fucking weeks to get it out of our system though!!!!

The only real dubious decision was Kovotic not getting sent off.

The Lewis incident, if he hadnt given the foul they would have had a free kick for hand ball

The Halland incident was exactly the same as the one where he scored at home last season when the defender came off second best
