Arsenal (A) - PL Post Match Thread

Yeah free kick given, but it came off his arms after he fell so hard to see it being given even if play hadn't been stopped
Im aware of what was given. A free kick to us instead of a goal. But would like to see it back if possible.

Yes it does. When the ref blows the game stops.
So still not answered… im fully aware the ref blew to give us a free kick (was at the game) and disallow our goal because thats to our advantage apparently. But would like to see it back as was at the game and been removed from all highlights for some reason

As he fell over after being fouled Rico landed on all fours with the ball underneath him which had the effect of shieldng it from the Arsenal defenders. Fair enough, but while there, the ball either hit his arm, or he used his arm to keep it there giving him time to get up and continue his run. Don't know wherher the ref had blown beforehand but even if he had played on, VAR would have ruled it out, probably rightly. No complaints from me.

Would just like to see it back. Removed from all highlights ive found. Cant give handball after being fouled surely. Handball is consistently given like earlier today when VVD is fouled. Oh hang on….

I've watched it several times, he doesn't purposely hand ball it but it's irrelevant as the game was stopped on the whistle. And so were the arse players.

Its not irrelevant, the ref should never have blown his whistle. Its yet another case of us being reffed differently… Irrelevant ffs

Not true, Rico was fouled, ref blew, Rico managed to get up and score after the whistle. It wasn't Refs fault imo. Just one of those things. Everything is irrelevant after the ref blows.
You don't half make up some shit. Considering you can't watch it anywhere.

Found it strange we didn’t start with at least one winger to take the full back on and get behind their defense to give Haaland some service. Especially as Arsenal had no wingers either. It was a really strange formation from Pep that was probably forced on him because of Rodris brain fart.

It was strange, don’t think Oliver could have seen whether the ball touched the hand or not from his viewpoint, and he probably blew up too soon. VAR would probably have ruled it out even if he hadn’t stopped play. However, the foul clearly stopped a promising move and should have been accompanied by a yellow card, in my opinion.

Spot on, game was decent between two well matched teams that hinged on two moments involving Nathan Ake, he misses a sitter in the first half, if we'd have scored first we'd have gone on to win, however he missed, and later in the game deflects a shot that's going wide or would at least have been saved. That's football.

I don't consider us to have played well all season, we've had moments but defiantly not consistently, it's early yet plenty of time and player to come back.
We haven't played consistently well since we won the PL last season. Couple of poor PL games last season, FA Cup final wasn't great, nor was the CL final. And this year so far, a spark missing. Understandable, maybe, but we will come good. We always do.

Not true?? The ref stopped a goal to give us a foul. Thats clearly the refs fault. WTAF….

From your description thats exactly what i saw at the ground. He gave a free kick to us which stopped us scoring.

And you think thats irrelevant…. Wow

Went there without KEY players to a team that finished second to us last season and has a ton of money poured into it It wasn’t a shocking performance at all and neither side deserved to win Arsenal were a disgrace with the way they tried to get City players booked luckily Oliver didn’t fall for it They won with a very lucky deflection
The ref was very lenient to us, Kovacic could have got red for the first challenge and the second was a yellow all day long
