But got unlucky - bad deflection.

If anything is really obvious.. it's that Rodri is our best player and him out for 3 games meant 3 defeats!

The Boys in Blue didn’t give in. They fought to the end. Hard lines City it wasn’t to be today. But you went down fighting. On the plus side Rodri’s back next time, John Boy’s back and as long as Wally Waistcoat leaves him on the bench we’ll be fine.
Thank you City, thank you lads, thank you fans you did us proud.

We lost to a major deflection in our 3rd away game on the trot.
We had no KDB, or Rodders. Jack and JS. One back but still not up to speed. We need to pick out Erling a lot better than we have done, or he becomes a passenger.
We still need an out and out left back.

We miss leadership in midfield. Gundogan was massive for us last season. As a leader and as a controller. Kovacic as good as he is , is not that. We are also missing our main creator the best midfielder in Europe in Kev.

Dog’s dinner that - looked like we picked eleven names out of a hat, told everyone to try to not get beat, but it doesn’t matter that much if we do.

Supposedly senior players not showing up at all. Bernado, for all the love he gets on here, has been stealing a living this season and was dreadful today. But still nowhere near as bad as Haaland and how he can stay on the pitch rather than Alvarez is just beyond me.

Zero ambition all match - every ball we picked up in midfield was passed back and ended up with Ederson. We also seemed to have no width while simultaneously not having anything in midfield.

We looked like a mid table team and got what we deserved, even though Arsenal were mediocre at best. We need to get ruthless with our selections and sign a proper midfielder in January as we can’t afford to carry passengers without KDB or Gundogan to pull us out of the shit.

I’m not one to overreact but that was poor.

Feels like Pep used this game to experiment. Players out of their natural/favoured positions, odd subs and why the hell did Grealish not play? I’d actually like to know because he’s invaluable in games like this. There was no control in our own half of the pitch for a long time at the end.

I’ve got to say even though arsenal didn’t do much on the ball, off the ball they were amazing. They managed to match us out of possession, credit where it’s due to arteta.

Agreed Lucky deflection lost us that as they didn't really offer anything else, although we didn't either. 2 points behind after 2 defeats. I can live with that.

It's the long game, and taking the rough bits as they come is part of maintaining that relentless grind, which most of the time gobbles up emotional yo-yos.

We know this. They know this. As fans, we have to live purely in the moment, as that's why we regularly watch...but systemic winners continue to do the right things that put them.in with a very strong case at reckoning time...

absolute terrible performance. I'm so done with this team now. I started supporting before champions league 2021 final because I thought this was a winning team. yeah we lost but I gave them another chance and last season was nice but this isn't the team I thought I was supporting.

Seems like they've lost desire since last season. Pep is getting outdone by other managers too, but it happens, some managers like Mourinho have their moments and the game moves on.

Tottenham is looking like a pretty good team to support right now.

I'll see how we go between now and Christmas but if things haven't improved by then, then I'm not wasting my time.

At least this made me chuckle.

We were outplayed like I can't remember when the last time. Even when we lost all those CL games we weren't outplayed.

I don't think we were outplayed at all.

Neither team were great, how many saves did either keeper have to make?

We should've been 1-0 up early but after that we seemed to be happy to play counter attacking football.
I thought our balance was off and i was surprised Grealish didn't play as we missed a proper attacking option on the left.

They upped the tempo at the end of the game and scored with a lucky deflection.

I don't think we played well, but we didn't deserve to lose that game.
