Arsenal (A) Post Match Thread

Just watched the BBC report, hardly a mention of our fans braving the weather, just that arsenal fans stayed away due to police advice!

To be fair seen a few reports that said funny how city fans made it from Manchester in these conditions... they are getting ridiculed left right and centre from the spuds.

Great result, great support and great goals from our trio of left-footers.

Almost the flip side of our normal performances. We didn’t dominate possession and chances on goal, but didn’t waste the chances we had. Shame Sergio didn’t get one but maybe best he holds back to get the 200th on home soil.

Hope Josep soon finds a cold remedy!

Second goal; Sane, Silva and Aguero all use both feet in the move to score a remarkable goal

They’ve not got a clue. They think what’s happening to their club is a disaster - they’re sixth for fuck’s sake! And finished second just two years ago. Imagine what they’d be like in Newcastle's position or Villa’s or Sunderland’s. A lot of fans of big clubs don’t have a clue what supporting a team through bad times is about. I’d imagine, especially, United Liverpool and Arsenal fans.

They’ve got a long way to go before a real rot sets in at that club. But they earn huge amounts of money, they’ve got some decent players and with the right coach they could challenge again easily.

There is a direct link between the colour of a shirt and an enormous sense of entitlement! I think scarlet, carmine, and just plain red top the list. Now which teams in the PL gad about in that wretched garb?

Three great team goals, a clean sheet and some wonderful individual performances to enjoy.

Leroy was on fire.
Ederson - some fine saves and unbelievable distribution.
Kun - on another day he would have bagged a couple of goals but overall, his link up play, speed of thought and workrate were fantastic
Bernardo - I was a bit disappointed as to how slowly he started with us but the last half a dozen games he has shown what he can do. Fantastic on the ball and works his balls off
Zinchenko - what a brilliant cameo. His distribution is a couple of steps above Danilo and he showed real defensive composure last night too.

I never thought I would see the day that we went to the Emirates and swatted them aside so easily. I actually didn't think they played that badly in spells.
Congratulations to those that braved the elements and went. Although the sky mikes were turned right down, you could still hear the singing throughout the game. Certainly showed up the gooner fans.

Doesn't seem that long ago when we applauded the arse at our place when they went 3-0 up after about twenty minutes.

At that point I thought I'd never see better football...

(I was wrong)

It was a great win and although Arsenal had chances we defended very well. Gundogan grew into the DM role as the game went on. Initially he just tried to take too many on in dangerous areas.

This city squad is so good because despite what was a poorer than usual performance by De Bruyne and to some extent Silva, who was not quite his flawless self, we won through. Sane, Bernardo and Aguero played well and De Bruyne and Silva still contributed with a great finish from Merlin.

Second half we started really poorly and could not keep the ball but Arsenal were pretty much done by then. Ederson saving the penalty was a big boost as the clean sheet is important.

Tough game again on sunday but the incentive is huge to keep winning.

I'm sure Sky had the microphones turned down at the away end yesterday. I suspect we made quite a lot more noise than was apparent on the TV.
