Arsenal (A) - Post-Match Thread

Fair dos to the team but we were not on it a win wasn’t deserved and that’s the first time I can remember us winning a game when not deserved.
It's such a strange feeling getting a win we didn't really deserve, it gives me a sense of guilt and foreboding that it will come back to bite us on the arse... and yet that scummy club across the city manage to scrape fluky, undeserved wins pretty much every other game and strut around like they were fully entitled to the points.

I suppose that's the difference between City and united supporters.

Aside from all the bullshit, Arteta has really improved them of late. If they continue to improve like this they could be another side to block the rags path to the promised land of 4th.
I look forward to the day we can bring Arteta home and induce piss boiling of biblical proportions.

This is the problem.

I like the side they have. Some great young players, a manager who clearly has a plan and has been given the time for that to come to fruition finally seeing performances.

But the fans and the ownership are appalling.

It reminded me of Liverpool 13/14, they’re a club that thinks they have the god given right to be in the top 4 and as soon as they got a sniff yesterday they turned into the worst form of themselves and then had a tantrum.

All the former referees and pundits except BT Sport have said the 2 VAR decisions were right, and yet their fans still think it was a robbery and are convinced we bought the referees.

Just realised it was Laporte up with Rodri at the end.

So our goal came from our CB and CDM being the furthest up the pitch in the dying minutes.

Do you think that was the tactics or just circumstantial?
Nah, I think Pep has realized Haaland is off to Spain and decided to let Laporte and Rodders have a go. Worked quite well :)

Anyway great winning mentality and Arsenal definitely were surprised, ha!

Men against boys yesterday and that result is how champions become champions. I've never seen a city side that I will always back when 1-0 away from home even at a place like Arsenal.

They got caught up in the decisions, one bloke lost his head, we just wanted 2 goals and got them.

He's doing a very good job there and credit to Arsenal for sticking with him.

I had excluded him from my list of people that might takeover from Pep but he is back on the list; although he is bottom of it.

I was wondering this morning why Laporte was there; haven't gone back a watched the segment of play before the one leading to the goal. I don't think it was tactical (as in a Pep idea).

I live in North London, around 7 miles away from The Emirates. I can still hear the whining from here.

I received messages from four Arsenal fans yesterday. To be fair, only one of them whinged about the officiating. The only person whinging is also the least intelligent of the four. Make of that what you will.

Glad someone else is pushing back at the prevailing narrative - we had 68% possession in the first half, even before we had a man extra, and we had a lot more shots than they did overall (and about the same before the red card). I think they played better than expected (for them) and we played worse than expected (for us), but that doesn’t mean they were the better team in absolute terms or that they dominated the game.
Well put.
